Situated 400 metres from Fläskbergets Beach, Sandhamn Seglarhotell offers 4-star accommodation in Sandhamn and has a bar. Pool, large hot tub, and sauna. All the staff we encountered was first rate. We didn’t meet any of the owners or managers, but I’m sure they are fine. The location at the marina was fantastic for watching the boats and the people who live on them. The restaurant was excellent.

Set by a fortress from 1735, this waterfront hotel on Värmdö Island offers impressive views of Solöfjärden and the surrounding archipelago. We wanted a break from hard travel and are so glad we chose Fredriksborg. The rooms are very simple with a terrific outlook. The location is remarkable, on a hill above the deep water channel going in and out of Stockholm. The first time we saw a huge ship gliding by above eye level was a happy surprise. The dinner served at their restaurant was superb. But the best of all is the staff. They take great pride in the history of the location and its role in the defense of Stockholm in centuries past. Pontus (spelling ?) went out of his way to show us the property as well as to drive us to the ferry for the return to Stockholm. We were very appreciative.

Located on the island of Grinda in Stockholm’s archipelago, this guest house is a 90-minute ferry ride to the city’s centre. I visited at the end of August, so it was the off season, not so many people. Food (lunch/dinner) and beer was great, service also. Beds comfy. Great trails for walks, good sauna and nice spots for a swim and amazing views. This was my first time visiting here so I was pretty excited about everything. Family owned I assume, old cozy maintained building and facilities. Grinda is a beautiful small island.

This early 1900s property is in Nynäshamn, on Trehörningen Island. It offers spa treatments, panoramic sea views and fine dining. Stockholm city centre is just 45 minutes’ drive away. Property was fantastic, really beautiful spa setup. So cozy for a little getaway from the city

Set in Stockholm’s beautiful archipelago, first-class hotel and conference centre Fågelbrohus offers a historic setting in Värmdölandet, just a 35 minute drive from the centre of Stockholm. Beautyfull place from inside and outside. Very clean rooms and surroundings. Helpfull and friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious and there is a big terrace/garden where to eat. We are happy to come back!
