Lions Place ligt in het nationaal park Grietjie, in het nationaal park Greater Kruger. De eigenaren JP en Danielle zijn erg gastvrij. De lodge heeft een gezellige sfeer en het contact is heel persoonlijk. Danielle kookt ( erg lekker) ook voor je dus wbt het eten is het allemaal geregeld. JP doet zelf de drives en kan er veel over vertellen. Het is erg fijn als je terug komt van de drives en je tafel staat gedekt bij het kampvuur. Een hele bijzondere ervaring om in de bush buiten te eten met een lekker wijntje. De olifanten komen drinken bij de poel. Dat was fantastisch om te zien.

Honeyguide Tented Safari Camps - Mantobeni ligt in wildreservaat Manyeleti met uitzicht op de tuin en heeft een restaurant, een 24-uursreceptie, bar, tuin, buitenzwembad dat het hele jaar door open is... De olifanten die dagelijks aan het zwembad komen drinken.. Heel uniek. De tenten in de natuur. Het lekkere eten.. Ook de game drives zijn heel leuk. Je gaat vaak off road als een dier gespot is. De tussenstop wanneer je iets kan drinken midden in de natuur (en tussen de dieren) vond ik ook een hele leuke ervaring.

Buffelshoek Tented Camp ligt in het Manyeleti-wildreservaat en biedt een tuin en een barbecue. Sabi Sand-wildreservaat bevindt zich op 34 km afstand. I had such a great time at Buffelshoek Tented Camp. The location, the food and the staff were all amazing. The game drives were exceptional too, I got to see lions, elephants, giraffes, jackals, rhinos, etc... even a leopard! The guide is an experienced off-road driver who gets you very close to the animals and allows plenty of time to take pictures. He tracked down the leopard and found it resting on a tree. In the camp, they have wifi in the lobby of the main tent and several adapters to charge devices during the day or overnight. Even though it rained often when I was there, I didn't notice any mosquitoes. I didn't stay at Kruger national park, but I was told by other visitors at Buffelshoek that a big advantage to stay in Manyeleti rather than Kruger is that during game drives you can follow animals off the track, which you cannot do at Kruger. We'd never have seen the leopard that way. You'll get to see a large variety of animals during game drives, my favorite one was big and strong, walks slowly but steadily and can eradicate trees when angry. It also runs on diesel :-) (it's the Land Rover)

Part of the Greater Kruger area, Kapama River Lodge is situated in the expansive 15 000 hectare Kapama Private Game Reserve. We were over the moon from A to Z : the service was exceptional, the room was magnificent, the staff was the best staff we ever had in our life. We saw the big 5 3 times over the 4 days. I can't even say thank you enough and how grateful we are for the experience we have lived. It is a once in a lifetime. All the small attentions, the care, the love.
