Tsuta Onsen Ryokan offers a hot spring bath and a public bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Towada, a few steps from Tsuta Hot Spring. Staff was amazing and helpful.

Boasting a garden and views of city, Historical Ryokan SENYUKAN is a ryokan set in a historic building in Ōwani, 42 km from Lake Towada. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly! They helped me securely store my bike and when I first got on the room they brought me a thermos with boiled water so I could have some tea immediately. The onsen itself was small but was pretty empty whenever I went, with good opening hours to suit all lifestyles.

Situated in Fukaura and only a few steps from Furofushi Onsen, Koganezaki Furofushi Onsen features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Bath in an outdoor onsen next to the ocean while seeing sunset is a once-in-a-life time experience.

Located in the Asamushi Onsen district of Aomori, Kaisenkaku is 19 km from Sannai-Maruyama site and 2 km from Asamushi Aquarium. Great traditional Onsen Hotel with Tsugaru Shamisen free performance

Situated in Aomori and only 20 km from Sannai-Maruyama site, Yadoya Tsubaki features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Very quiet area with very fresh air, a great place out of busy city live. Affordable and unique eateries , Lawson, coffee house and mini supermarket around. Onsen all around if you are onsen lover like me. This hotel has private and public onsen or bath the Japanese called them. Private bath just have to book when you arrive. 1min from asamushi station. Take train from Aomori to asamushi , 20mins 460yen. 2 to 3 days stays will be good. Service staff are friendly.

Located at the foot of Mount Hakkoda, Hotel Jogakura provides mountain resort accommodation boasting natural hot spring baths, saunas and gorgeous Japanese meals. Very friendly staff, beautiful location and amazing food.

Only a 2-minute walk from JR Aomori Train Station, Iroha Ryokan offers simple Japanese-style rooms with a flat-screen TV. The location was close to the station, check in was quick, everything was clean. Amazing stay for the price! I didn’t stay for any meals so I can’t speak to that, but plenty of food within a quick walk.

Situated in Kuroishi in the Aomori region, Tabinoyado Saikawa features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to spa facilities. This is a traditional Japanese ryokan with public baths (gender separated). Dinner and breakfast are amazing and plentiful, with locally sourced organic produce (even coffee!). Our room (Japanese room with private toilet) was to the left of the entrance. It was very spacious. The heater worked very well as autumn night was a bit damp and cold. The beds are futons on wood bed frames on tatami, and they are super comfortable. As I have a whole-leg tattoo which is usually not permitted in the public baths, I notified Ranko in advance, and she reserved the private bath for us. The private bath was a very beautiful blue ceramic bath filled with warm (I don’t think it’s very hot) healing hot spring water from the area. Ranko’s warm personality really made the stay memorable. Be sure to ask her for recommendations of the areas. She is a well of knowledge of the area!

Boasting a sauna, Suigunnoyado is set in Ajigasawa. This 2-star ryokan offers a spa experience, with its hot spring bath and public bath. Very satisfied with our stay here while driving around in the area — the inn was a very calm and relaxing place with several amazing baths with different temperatures (cold, warm, warmer), and the kaiseki meal was delicious!
