Kominka neri（古民家煉り） is situated in Miyawaka, 12 km from Azenomachi Ehon Museum, 13 km from Ino Tensho Kotai Jingu Shrine, as well as 14 km from Hisasue Park. The onsen in the room was fantastic. The room was huge and had a great traditional feel. The garden outside and the shogi screens really gave it a cosy feeling.

Craft inn Te in Yame is a true gem like we like to discover when travelling. This place mix the charm of the historical Machiya with contemporary touches by local craftsmen. It’s more than just a place to stay, it’s an invitation to explore Japanese craftsmanship! Craft Inn Te staff organised workshop visits for us, we planned our trip in advance with them and it was a real pleasure for our kids and us to discover unique skills and fascinating people. Our interpreted Shiho was very helpful and we were happy to spend the day with her. We had booked one night there but we stayed added one more night as this place is really lively with a unique atmosphere.

Akizuki Spa Ryokan Seiryuan asub Asakuras, Hiroshiki Oda kunstimuuseumist vaid 13 km kaugusel. Majutusruumidest avaneb vaade mägedele. Kohapeal on tasuta WiFi-ühendus ja tasuta eraparkla. I could possibly write an essay on the level of detail and attentiveness from the staff, which made this already wonderful location an incredible place to stay. From before our arrival, we had some concerns regarding finding our way to Seiryuan as we were unfamiliar with the area, and knew it was a tad more remote than all other locations we had visited. I attempted to reach out via Booking and Instagram, receiving a reply via Instagram that went above and beyond expectations. Yukari Hiraki verified how we were arriving (train/trolley) and which station, after which she provided detailed steps, screenshots, and cost estimates of our options (bus / taxi) and from where to pick them up. This allowed us to arrive at Seiryuan with significant confidence. As we were arriving, a staff member received us outside which surprised us. We had not yet arrived to their main entrance, and this is a very remote area where we saw no one else nearby during our final walk to Seiryuan. I suspect they have a very well placed camera in the approaching street to identify guests as his presence there felt quite magical. Every hospitality standard we had previously was shattered from the attentive check-in, room accompaniment, offering of tea/ appetizers and scheduling our dinner time. During dinner, which takes place in an ample private area with a lovely view of the pond/ garden, our waiter Sakurai was the utmost example of excellence. His attention to detail, knowing when to offer additional information about the dinner, when we were deep in conversation he was incredibly respectful. All of this while in English which he was able to communicate very effectively intricate details regarding the dinner. When we returned to our rooms the beds were made and we enjoyed the private onsen. Breakfast was also delicious and the check-out experience was also flawless.

This truly is a special place, far exceeding our expectations. It's not just a hotel but a destination, a cultural gem. The historical Great Hall and the Japanese garden are beautiful. In the evening you can sit on the edge of the Great Hall looking out on to the beautifully lit garden that surrounds a small lake. And the hotel provide you with sake and other drinks at no charge to aid a truly memorable experience. Our room was large, spacious, comfortable and clean, with a fabulous view over the garden. Breakfast was traditional Japanese, and of the highest quality. All the staff were courteous, and very helpful. There is an excellent museum right next door to the hotel to which entry is free to hotel guests. So don't miss it or the tour around the historical parts of the hotel. This is probably the most glowing review I have ever given on Booking.com, but it absolutely deserves it.
