Offering mountain views, Dainichiya-ryokan is an accommodation situated in Sasaguri, a few steps from Akashi-ji Temple and 600 metres from Yamate Kannondo Temple. Very good food! Great surrounding on a Temple ground. Nice owners who showed us arround. Nice onsen. You can start the pelgrimsroute (by foot or car) here. Ask for the stemp and calligraphy mark when you leave. A hidden gem and very affordable for the area and the quality of the food. A opportunity to get a closer look at Japanese culture. Please go you won’t be disappointed.

Craft Inn Te, a property with a garden, is situated in Yame, 24 km from Yoshinogari Historical Park, 28 km from Hirayama Hot Spring, as well as 39 km from Kanzeon-ji Temple. This small hotel located in Yame is simply magnificent. The hotel far exceeded our expectations, the room was so beautiful and the attention to detail was incredible. The staff was really nice and the breakfast in the morning was really amazing! I would totally recommend this beautiful ryokan and I hope I can stay again soon!

Set in Yanagawa in the Fukuoka region, Yanagawa B&B hatago has a garden. It is situated 32 km from Hirayama Hot Spring and features a housekeeping service. Rooms and House were meticulously clean and sparkling. Hostess was gracious.

Ang Akizuki Spa Ryokan Seiryuan ay makikita sa Akizuki, 30 km mula sa Fukuoka. Para mag-enjoy, puwedeng kumain ang mga guest sa on-site restaurant. Available on site ang libreng private parking. I could possibly write an essay on the level of detail and attentiveness from the staff, which made this already wonderful location an incredible place to stay. From before our arrival, we had some concerns regarding finding our way to Seiryuan as we were unfamiliar with the area, and knew it was a tad more remote than all other locations we had visited. I attempted to reach out via Booking and Instagram, receiving a reply via Instagram that went above and beyond expectations. Yukari Hiraki verified how we were arriving (train/trolley) and which station, after which she provided detailed steps, screenshots, and cost estimates of our options (bus / taxi) and from where to pick them up. This allowed us to arrive at Seiryuan with significant confidence. As we were arriving, a staff member received us outside which surprised us. We had not yet arrived to their main entrance, and this is a very remote area where we saw no one else nearby during our final walk to Seiryuan. I suspect they have a very well placed camera in the approaching street to identify guests as his presence there felt quite magical. Every hospitality standard we had previously was shattered from the attentive check-in, room accompaniment, offering of tea/ appetizers and scheduling our dinner time. During dinner, which takes place in an ample private area with a lovely view of the pond/ garden, our waiter Sakurai was the utmost example of excellence. His attention to detail, knowing when to offer additional information about the dinner, when we were deep in conversation he was incredibly respectful. All of this while in English which he was able to communicate very effectively intricate details regarding the dinner. When we returned to our rooms the beds were made and we enjoyed the private onsen. Breakfast was also delicious and the check-out experience was also flawless.
