Aizuwakamatsu
Japanese-style rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor and traditional futon bedding, while Western rooms come with beds and an en suite bathroom. All rooms are air-conditioned and fitted with an LCD TV and a fridge. The food was delicious, plentiful and allowed us to try traditional cuisine as well as some new foods we hadn't tried before. An open mind is required for some of the sashimi's. The futon beds were very comfortable and the bathing room was amazing. The hostesses were so friendly and helpful, we were travelling with our 10 month old and they all loved him and were understanding when he was loud at times. We would love to stay here again in the future. Knowing basic Japanese or using Google translate is highly recommended if visiting this accomodation.

All the food was amazing, buffet style breakfast is so diverse - there's seriously a little bit of everything. I found myself making sure I was as hungry as possible to give my best attempt to try it all!
The staff were so helpful, we are so appreciative of everyone putting up with the language barrier and really making sure we were having the best time and we knew which bus to take.
Highly recommend the set dinner as well, very good value for money. Best dining experience I've ever had, all the dishes were presented amazingly. The seasonal sides were a nice touch and the Sake went down very well.
Location is great, all the baths were very relaxing. We stayed on the 5th floor facing the river which added to the tranquility.
This is my second time going to a traditional Ryokan Onsen town, first time at a hotel and it's something everyone should do, it resets you, grounds you and brings you back to reality with a new spring in your step, life can be so simple and there's nothing that makes you feel this more, than a few "stripped back" days in an Onsen town.

Beautiful location with nice 10 tatami mat room. Onsen was great. Amazing value for money. Staff were very nice too.
We stayed in the annex, in a room overlooking the Aga River. It was incredibly beautiful to see that view every day. The room was well-equipped, with comfortable futon, yukata, bathroom, fridge and onsen amenities. The large public bath and rotenburo in the main hotel were excellent.
Gave you the ryokan feel with Japanese style. Love the onsen n kaiseki meals.
Brilliant facilities. Fantastic food spread. Great family room with comfy futons. Beautiful onsen.
The onsen hot spring baths are amazing and the staff are fantastic. On holiday from Australia and we were looked after very well. The dinner was out of this world!
A very special and traditional, relatively small and personal ryokan. Highlights are the dining rooms, where the guests sit around (on tatami) traditional fire places. The food is partly roasted over charcoal. Although basic communication in English works, some knowledge of Japanese language and culture is very helpful. If you go there during the week, you can stay for a really attractive price…
The atmosphere and ambiance are very peaceful. This is a place to stay if you want to have a nice ryokan and onsen experience. Everything is basically straightforward. Staff is not proficient in english, but if you use google Translate, that will help. The food was great with japanese traditional breakfast and dinner. The whole experience was excellent. The onsen was also good. So if you like onsen, most likely, this is a place to go.
Wonderful traditional Ryokan atmosphere, delicious breakfast, and relaxing onsen. But most of all, the hosts were extremely kind and generous - Sato-san not only brought me to the station, but also added natto to the breakfast after I told him that I enjoyed it. Thanks for an excellent stay!
• The shared restroom and bathroom was very clean • The room was Ryokan style so we got to experience authentic japanese vibes. • There were 2 rooms in the room, the bedroom where the futons were laid, and the liviing room, where there was a small table with TV. • The fullboard dinner and breakfast was very delicious and large, so we didn't have to worry about not being full. • The staff were very friendly. Although they could not communicate in English well, they tried their best to assist.
Breakfast: Excellent buffet spread in a lovely restaurant. Sit next to the windows for a great view of the town Facilities: Four different hot spring facilities to use, the air baths were clean and comfortable to use, 2 of which had great views of the river. A lounge bar with free drinks and snacks is also available. Rooms: Standard ryokan-quality rooms, soft and comfortable beds
