Anzono our waiter for our dinner service went above and beyond. When one of us had to leave dinner before dessert to make their massage appointment, he offered and prepared a plate of the full dessert on a tray to be taken to the room for enjoyment afterwards.

Yumotokan har en attraktiv plassering i Ogoto Onsen i Otsu, 16 kilometer fra Enryaku-ji-tempelet, 17 kilometer fra Hiei-fjellet og 19 kilometer fra Shōren-in-tempelet. It was a great experience, the room was nice and clean, the meals were great, the staff were very friendly and professional. The first hour in the hotel and I'm already thinking of coming back on my next trip to japan.

I Nagahama, 14 kilometer fra Hikone slott, ligger 長浜城下 町屋ホテル 和乃リトリートひといき, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering, en terrasse og en bar. Our room was wonderful. The amenities were thoughtful and high quality. The host was extremely friendly and treated us to a tour of beautiful Nagahama.

Marumo Ryokan ligger i Takashima. Dette 1-stjernes ryokanet har en hage i tillegg til rom med klimaanlegg, gratis WiFi og felles bad. The host of the guesthouse was very kind, and the extra dinner we ordered—Wagyu sukiyaki—was incredibly delicious. I would definitely visit again if I have the chance!

I Hikone, bare 2,7 kilometer fra Hikone slott og 6 kilometer fra Maibara stasjon ligger KAMENOI HOTEL Hikone. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. We had some delay in reaching the accommodations, but they allowed us to have our dinner right as we entered, before checking in. They also helped us to call a taxi to the train station on our last day. My mother left an item behind, and they kindly mailed it over to my address in Tokyo after we left! Compliments to the chef, the food every breakfast and dinner were so delicious, and my family and I got to try many local delicacies in the comfort of the hotel :) My parents also enjoyed their very first experience of onsen here!

I Hikone, under 1 kilometer fra Hikone slott, ligger Honmachi Juku, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering og en fellesstue. The homemade Japanese breakfasts were phenomenal and a very good value. Almost unbelievable. Each day was different, with a healthy balance of vegetables, proteins, and carbs (rice). Authentic, and served by a wonderful woman.

Kiyotaki Ryokan ligger i Hikone i Shiga, 8 kilometer fra Taga-taisha-helligdommen. Dette 2-stjerners ryokanet har en hage i tillegg til rom med klimaanlegg, gratis WiFi og felles bad. Great place for a change of pace in japan!!! Free bike rental super kind owners and great food

Only a 5-minute drive from JR Ogoto Onsen Station with the complimentary shuttle, hotel Yuzanso features Japanese-style rooms with a private open-air hot spring bath and spectacular views of Biwako... The view was beautiful and the open air bath was amazing, really recommend staying here, it's worth the money. We also had the half board included which was very tasty. Overall amazing stay, would love to come back.

Bare 17 minutters gange fra Hikone slott og 7,7 kilometer fra Taga-taisha-helligdommen ligger Tobaya Ryokan, som tilbyr overnatting i Hikone. Beautiful establishment! Gives an old traditional Japanese vibe, still very familiar. Our room was huge, surrounded by Japanese style gardens. Even the kaiseki cusine was good.
