Dormy Inn Akita is located opposite historical Senshu Park and is a 5-minute walk from JR Akita Station. Free internet access and a public bath are provided. All. Their staff though with limited English was not a hindrance as we use apps to do translation. Very helpful.

The hotel location was great, pretty close to the train station. The breakfast has a lot of options, it was one of the best in my life. The hotel staff was amazing and onsen was great to relax.

Hotel Folkloro Kakunodate features air-conditioned rooms and free private parking. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Each room has a flat-screen TV. You will find a kettle in the room. Love the location, right beside JR station. It's a comfortable stay.

7.6 km from Nyuto Hot Spring in Senboku, Aoni Sanso features accommodation with access to a hot spring bath, public bath and open-air bath. Nice place, nice onsen, good food! But you need a car to get to it!

Featuring free bikes, garden and views of mountain, Onsen Yupopo is located in Senboku, 33 km from Nyuto Hot Spring. This ryokan offers free private parking and a 24-hour front desk. This is the first ryokan I have ever gone to, and it was wonderful. The staff were very nice, including the gardener who I had met and talked with a few times. The breakfasts had a great variety, and were different every day, with a mix of Western and Japanese items available. The onsen was fun to walk to, since a bridge connects the main building and the onsen building. This was also my first onsen experience, and there are very informative instructions on how to use the facilities properly. It set me up for success at every other bath I ended up going to on my trip, and I'm really grateful. Would highly recommend going during the winter, to enjoy very pretty snowfall and snowy mountain views. I want to return during the spring or summer to enjoy the outdoor art village activities as well!!

Situated in Senboku, 37 km from Nyuto Hot Spring and 8.8 km from Kakunodate Station, Nishiki Onsen Kurion offers a garden and air conditioning. I would say it's clean and cozy. Personally, I enjoy Japanese-style bedrooms, so it was good enough for me. It's also easy to get to Tazawako if you'd like to visit.
