The Violin Conspiracy Playlist

This playlist comprises some of my favorite pieces of music that I had the pleasure of discovering as a young violinist. In THE VIOLIN CONSPIRACY, the protagonist, Ray, also learns these pieces and falls in love with them. As he progresses through his musical studies, he learns more advanced pieces - like the Bruch Concerto and the Mendelssohn Concerto. The Mendelssohn especially is dear to me: my teacher Rachel Vetter Huang gave me a copy of her sheet music from her own student days, and I treasure that copy today.

As Ray grows as a performer, the music, too, grows and progresses, becoming intricate in virtuosity, more challenging to play. His prowess culminates with the repertoire in the Tchaikovsky Competition.

I’m also very proud I could include a bit of old school hip hop. Both Ray and I are total hip hop heads.
