Export awareness seminar held in Nagaland's commercial hub

Dimapur: The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) organized an export awareness seminar in Dimapur, Nagaland on Tuesday.

According to officials, the event aimed to enhance export knowledge among local artisans, entrepreneurs, and NGOs. Key speakers included officials from DGFT, EPCH, the Investment Development Authority of Nagaland, and the Department of Industries & Commerce of Nagaland.

Jesmina Zeliang, Regional Convenor of EPCH (NER), encouraged Nagaland entrepreneurs to utilize EPCH's business opportunities and understand export-related issues. DGFT's Harish Kesari presented support initiatives, explaining export procedures and strategies. EPCH's Bhaskar Baruah discussed export processes, linkages, and marketing initiatives.

Sanjeev Kumar explained the Ministry of Textiles' schemes for entrepreneurs and artisans, focusing on capacity building and marketing access support. Anini Nyenga detailed schemes for new entrepreneurs and artisans, while Asangla offered insights into the Nagaland government's initiatives for entrepreneurs and artisans. Daniel Domesh explained the Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra initiative for logistics facilities.

The seminar, under the Niryat Bandhu Scheme of DGFT, aimed to enhance awareness and understanding of exporting among potential exporters and e-commerce exporters. EPCH is a nodal agency promoting handicrafts exports from India, with handicrafts exports amounting to Rs. 30,019.24 Crores (US $ 3,728.47 Million) in 2022-23.
