The First Of Only Five Italdesign Zerounos Made Is Up For Sale

Italdesign is gearing up to put the Nissan GT-R50 into production. Strictly limited production, mind you, with only fifty to be made. But this is even more exclusive. Ten times as exclusive, to be specific. And it can (at least in theory) be yours.

Don’t recognize what you’re looking at? It’s called the Zerouno, and it was the first project from the freshly inaugurated Automobili Speciali Italdesign after the Volkswagen Group took over the design studio from the legendary Giorgetto Giugiaro.

It was based on the same underpinnings as the Audi R8 and Lamborghini Huracan, and packed the same 5.2-liter V10, sending 610 horsepower (455 kW) and 383 lb-ft (520 Nm) of torque to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Italdesign unveiled the Zerouno coupe at the Geneva Motor Show last year, and set about building five examples – each with a seven-figure price tag that put it in another league from its platform-mates. More along the lines of the Lamborghini Veneno or Centenario than the Huracan, in short. The Duerta roadster followed at the same show the next year (this past March) and saw another five examples made, but they all sold out just as fast.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that, if you missed your chance (but have the cash), the very first of those coupes is now listed for sale by a Belgian broker called Iconiccars, with just 311 miles (500 km) on the odometer. The asking price has not been disclosed, and given how much Italdesign charged for each originally, we’re afraid to ask. You can bet, though, that it’ll be more (likely many times more) than the €900,000 which the niche manufacturer and its Japanese client will charge for each of the 50 examples of the GT-R50 they plan to build.
