The Ford F-150 is – and probably always will be – the quintessential American pickup truck. It’s been a best-seller for decades, and there’s an F-150 variant that suits pretty much anyone. However, for those not satisfied with a standard F-150, a Raptor, or even a Raptor R, Shelby American has the answer with its new 785-hp behemoth.

This new model, known as the Shelby F-150, is based on the 2024 model and has received a bunch of modifications to ensure it can deal with anything owners can throw at it. It’s not cheap, starting at $139,995, so, what do you get for your money?

First things first is power. Lots of power. Shelby has taken the regular 5.0-liter Coyote V8 available in the F-150 and bolted on a Gen 5 Whipple supercharger. The truck also has a carbon fiber air intake, an open-air performance intake, an aluminum heat exchanger, and high-performance fuel injectors, allowing it to pump out an almighty 785 hp. A Borla exhaust also ensures this heavily modified engine can breathe freely.

Other upgrades include Fox shocks similar to those of the F-150 Raptor, complete with internal bypass technology and adjustable dual-speed controls. The ride height has been lifted by 3 inches and the Shelby sits on 35-inch all-terrain tires. Features like power running boards with rock guards and a thoroughly revised front fascia are also present.

Shoppers can also get Shelby to customize the interior of their dream F-150. For example, the interior can be fitted with various pieces in carbon fiber, billet racing pedals, embroidered floor mats, tinted windows, and a serialized console plaque. The seats are also wrapped in new leather with red stitching and red Shelby embroidery.

All models are based on the standard F-150 4×4 SuperCrew in Lariat Trim, and several different paint options and graphics packages are available and can be seen through the Shelby configurator. Just 800 examples will be built for the 2024 model year.
