Gazelle Medeo T9 HMB Electric Bike

    Medeo T9 HMB
The Gazelle Medeo T9 HMB delivers a smooth, well-balanced ride, and its crank-mounted motor gives it a little boost for sustained pedaling on relatively flat surfaces. What you won’t get from it is a lot of hill-climbing power, which makes sense considering that these bikes are built in the Netherlands where there aren’t many hills. Since the level of assistance from the electric motor correlates to how fast your pedals are moving (your cadence), the Medeo’s nine gears make it easier to pedal fast. This helps keep the electric motor working so your legs don’t have to. But as soon as you slow down that pedal turnover, electric assist fades. There are four power levels, and even the most potent one is no match to assist on really steep grades. Fortunately, the Medeo pedals easily as a regular, non-powered bike, making leg-powered hillclimbs a breeze. And because the pedal crank-mounted motor routes power through the chain to the bicycle gears on the rear wheel (hub-mounted motors don’t do this), it can be leveraged through gearing choices, which aid battery life. The bike’s riding position is simultaneously upright and relaxed, promoting comfort and good forward visibility. Hydraulic disc brakes stop the bike quickly.
