Google 雖然在台灣晚了國外一年才在 2022 年 6 月引進搭載 Google TV 的 Chromecast with Google TV ，不過在 9 月下旬再宣布追加價格更平易近人的 Chromecast HD 高畫質版本，同時原本的 Chromecast with Google TV 改稱 Chromecast 4K 版本。

Chromecast HD 高畫質版本的官方照片看起來與 Chromecast 4K 版本相同，由於並未拿到實品無法確認顏色是否微調，但尺寸與控制器都完全相同；根據 Google Play Store 的比較表，兩者的差異僅在於影像輸出解析度，雖然 Chromecast HD 高畫質版本降為 1080p ，不過仍支援 HDR 高動態影像，同時也採用 Android TV ，支援 Google Home 智慧家居控制與 Chromecast 投射功能。
Chromecast with Google TV 改名的原因可能是當時還有非 Google TV 版本的 Chromecast 併行販售，而全新的 Chromecast HD 高畫質版本同樣搭載 Google TV ，就沒必要刻意強調 Google TV 了。
