When Love Island 2024 came to an end in July, seven happy couples left the villa together ready to face the real world. After Mimii and Josh were named this summer's winners, Ciaran and Nicole were announced as runners up, but sadly have confirmed their break up five months after leaving the show. Here's what they said in their statement.

What happened between Nicole and Ciaran in Love Island 2024?

Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies were both original Islanders on this year's Love Island. While he was initially coupled up with Harriet, and Nicole was coupled up with Sean, the pair were quickly drawn to each other, bonding over their Welsh roots.

While they were in the villa, the pair continued to couple up, making it successfully through Casa Amor without exploring other connections. They eventually said 'I love you' while in the villa, with Ciaran also asking Nicole to be his girlfriend.

Nicole said she was "so madly in love" with Ciaran in the final declarations, adding that she "loves everything about you." The pair were named runners up in the Love Island final, coming second ahead of Sean and Matilda, and Ayo and Jess. But where is their relationship now?

Are Ciaran and Nicole still together now?

After leaving the Love Island villa at the end of July, Ciaran and Nicole quickly revealed in a TikTok video that they had already moved in together, with Ciaran adding on Instagram, "This has been the greatest experience of my life. I have made the best of friends, and get to continue my journey back home with the Mrs... I will forever be grateful for what @loveisland has done for me."

Nicole added in her own Instagram caption, "This chapter in my life has been the best one yet, meeting best friends for life in every boy and girl that walked through the door to finding true love that I never thought existed❤️ Now, I am so excited for the future, doing life with Ciaran and the plenty of dog walks we will be taking Bonnie on😙 From beginning to end, it was always him."

Sadly, though, it wasn't to be, and after a summer of love, a rep for the pair confirmed news of their split on the 9th December 2024. The statement read:

"Over the last couple of days Nicole and Ciaran have made the mutual decision to part ways. They have left the relationship on amicable terms, and will remain good friends going forward."

So far, neither Ciaran or Nicole have spoken out about the break up on social media. They also haven't deleted any of the pictures of each other from their grids, which hopefully means things truly are amicable. Here's to hoping they're both doing OK!
