Augusta Yacht Club

The Augusta Yacht Club, Maine is listed in Lloyd's Register of American Yachts, 1912, as organised in 1904 and incorporated in 1906; its station is given as Augusta Maine - Kennebec River. (The 1906 edition had it organised in 1905.)

Its burgee is depicted as a ca. 2:3 very dark blue triangle, with a red border along its flywise edges and with a white sans capital A on the blue.

A postcard at Delcampe at www.delcampe.net/items?searchString=Augusta+Yacht+club shows a similar design.

For 1917, Lloyd's does list the club, but adds the note that no report was received from its secretary. In 1929 its burgee is no longer shown. This gives the impression the club was no longer in existence by that time; maybe not since WWI. Counter to that impression, however, Atlantic Boating Almanacs: Maine To Cape Cod, Ma - Peter L. Griffes (2004) writes about Augusta that "There is a public float landing on the E bank just above the southernmost bridge ... . The landing is also used by the Augusta Yacht Club ... ." I found no other recent information on the yacht club, though, and can't determine whether the club disappeared at some point, or whether there is indeed still, or again, a club by that name in Augusta Maine.
