The current (2022) Duluth Yacht Club, was set up in February
1969 as the Cruising Club. By April, they had acquired a constitution, by-laws,
26 members, and the name "Duluth Keel Club".
In 1990, the common named
changed to "Duluth Yacht Club", though formally they are apparently still
"Duluth Keel Club".
Nowhere a good image of a burgee, but I saw a few
pixels on a small image as part of an image postcard that might suffice to
recognise a burgee on a different boat:
A white field, with a dark blue
border along the fly edges, with the blue characters "DYC", aligned vertically
along the hoist, with in the fly the image of two yachts in front of the Duluth
Lift Bridge.

Duluth Yacht Club tell us that "Duluth hadn't seen a formal yacht club since
the 1920s and 30s when Park Point had an elaborate establishment which operated
under the name Duluth Yacht Club." I did find information of an even older club:
The Duluth Boat Club, from 1886. At some undetermined point the first Duluth
Yacht Club was formed, and in 1907 the two clubs merged, but I don't know under
what name. In the 1920s, interest moved from water to automotives, and as a
result the club folded in 1926. I've seen black and white photographs, but
nothing that will tell us what we see.
Since then, clubs have been
recreated, to recapture the high tides of the start of the previous centuries.
One of them is a new Duluth Boat Club. They tell us:
"The purpose of Duluth
Boat Club is to provide persons of all ages, skill levels, physical and sensory
ability and financial means, access to water sports recreation, instruction and
competition and to advocate safe water sports as an educational, life sport,
fitness and social activity for individuals, families and groups from the Duluth
community, region and beyond."
They picture a club house from the start
of the 20th century, but that doesn't tell us much details. "Boat Club" suggests
they are rowing. But either way, they provide a burgee.

- This user, S(cott?) Halenbeck told us: "The Duluth Boat Club still exists as
an umbrella organization for a number of water related clubs. The Duluth Boat
Club's mission is to enhance water front access for all."
