Geneva Yacht Club, New York
Estb: 1909 - ? Location: Geneva, Lake Seneca, NY.
Burgee: Pennant circa 3:4 (print image). Red field (to hoist) superimposed by a white star and divided from a blue area (to fly) by a chevron with point to hoist.

Note 1: Seneca Yacht Club (1929 - date) uses the same burgee design (2:4), with the red and blue colours reversed.

Rather 1927, for the organisation. The 1929 is for the building. The club building was opened in 1929, according to several writes, but the organisation was founded two years earlier.

Note 2: "The 1955 Long Distance Race, like all SYC events throughout the 1950's was captured on canvas by artist E.C. 'Lauty' Lautenslager. The illustrated canvas shows a burgee (2:5) blue to hoist with white star, and yellow to fly divided by a chevron.

"THE GENEVA DAILY TIMES of February 10, 1927 carried a paragraph reading A meeting to organize a Geneva Yacht Club has been called for tomorrow night at 8:00 . . . On Saturday, February 12th, the paper stated New Yacht Club to be known as the Seneca Yacht Club organized at meeting last evening.

"The club was founded on February 11, 1927" ... "The grand opening of the $3000.00 clubhouse was held on Memorial Day in 1929."
