Finland: Harmonized inflation remains stable in July
Harmonized inflation came in at 0.5% in July, unchanged for the third consecutive month. The reading was once again the lowest in the Euro area. Looking at the details of the release, a softer fall in prices for transportation plus food and non-alcoholic beverages largely offset a faster decline in housing and utilities prices.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 1.3% in July (June: 1.6%). Consumer price inflation fell to 1.0% in July from the previous month’s 1.3%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.24% from the previous month in July, swinging from June’s 0.05% drop. July’s figure was the highest reading since February.
