The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) promotes regional cooperation and integration in efforts to achieve peace, security and prosperity in Member States (Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda

The Intergovernmental Authority on Development is the Regional Economic Community of the Horn of Africa for peace, prosperity, and regional integration.

IGAD focuses on six priority areas:

  2. Natural resources and environment protection
  3. Social Development
  4. Regional Economic Cooperation and Integration
  5. Peace and Security
  6. Gender Affairs
