Bradley Cooper is back in front of and behind the camera this fall with his new film Maestro, the biopic about the composer Leonard Bernstein that premiered to rapturous applause at the Venice Film Festival this August. The acclaimed drama is currently rounding out the fall festival circuit with screenings in New York and London, and it’s set to open theatrically late next month before landing on Netflix toward the end of December—a long and steady journey that seems poised to bring Coop straight back to the Oscars in February. This is clearly Bradley Cooper season.

Cooper hasn’t been able to do any press for his own movie thus far, having abided by the rules of the SAG-AFTRA strike that’s kept stars from conducting interviews or promoting their work. But that doesn’t mean he’s been out of the spotlight. He’s been about and about across New York lately, sparking heated rumors about a supposed romance with Gigi Hadid — and, in reliable Bradley Cooper fashion, getting a handful of solid fits off while awaiting the release of his latest opus.

It’s inarguably adorable that Cooper donned a cashmere work shirt from Gigi’s own Guest in Residence label earlier this week. But for us, the highlight of his recent wardrobe was his choice of footwear while out in the West Village yesterday: the Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 High. Arguably the single hottest Jordan collab of the last few years, the Houston rapper's take on the classic Jordan 1 silhouette flips the Nike swoosh backwards on the outside, making for a pronounced look that any sneakerhead can spot instantly. Scott has gone on to release a number of excellent Air Jordans (including a recent low-top golf shoe), but Cooper's pair are the highly-coveted 2019 originals. The deep brown colorway — a take on the beloved “mocha” style seen elsewhere in the Jordan 1 family — makes for the ideal autumn aesthetic, which leads us to believe that beyond simply knowing hype sneakers, Cooper knows how and when to wear them.
