In his 66 years, Daniel Day-Lewis has shown time and time again that he is a man of many, many talents. Not only does he have three Oscars, four BAFTAs, and a knighthood on his CV (you're hired!), the London-born method actor happens to be something of a workwear god, too.

On the streets of New York City, Day-Lewis was spotted leaving a meeting with critically-acclaimed directors Steven Spielberg and Jim Sheridan. This was pretty exciting, as not only did it hint that he was pulling out of a retirement for a potential project (fingers crossed), it also gave us another example of just how good this man is at workwear.

Up top, he rocked a navy beanie that was folded in all the right places and just the right amount of trawlerman shipster. There were tinted sunglasses, too. He also slipped on a striped tee, and layered this with a denim shirt and a neck scarf. It's the sort of fit that everyone wants to have, and one that suits absolutely everyone when done right. However, if he wasn't going hard enough already, the Gangs of New York actor also wore a Carhartt Detroit Jacket as well. But, with Day-Lewis being Day-Lewis, it's not just any old Detroit Jacket: it's a special one that was made to celebrate the American label's 125th birthday. That's over a century of blessed workwear that, despite never really changing tact, has continued to fly even higher in recent years.

Released in an extremely limited run back in 2014, this rare piece featured a creamy canvas construction, corduroy collars, and an inner lining that's completely covered in a patterned blanket for extra warmth and cosiness. It was made in the US of A too, and was stitched with all kinds of “125th anniversary” branding just to remind everyone that this isn't your everyday Detroit Jacket. Day-Lewis then paired it with the matching trousers, and a pair of custom-made BuilderPro boots by Nicks.

It's grail workwear, then. And that's just another day in the life of Daniel-Day Lewis, the final boss of workwear.
