Jamie Dornan might be an accomplished and talented actor, but he ought to be celebrated for his wardrobe too. Nice work, Dornan.

Jamie Dornan: the charismatic Irishman who has more than earned his reputation as a masterful actor, charming interviewee and all-round smile-inducing presence. What we haven't necessarily praised the star for though, is his wardrobe. And that ends now (thanks to Percival).

As the latest name to feel the almighty Percival punch, Jamie Dornan joins a well-established company of dressers that have praised, worn and indulged in Chris Gove's Soho-based label. From Chris Evans and Andrew Garfield to Asa Butterfield and Paul Mescal, there's ne'er a drippy actor out there yet to succumb to Percival's knitted seduction — and it's not all that hard to see why.

The brand's MO is simple: it ups the ante of menswear classics, pushing the everyman in a more tailored and elevated direction than he might typically tend toward. It's for this reason that its output is so universal, and so clearly irresistible to menswear stylists throughout the UK and US.

'Bobcat' cardigan

Worn by Dornan to attend a screening of his latest venture, The Tourist 2, in London, Percival's ‘Bobcat’ cardigan was the focal point of the actor's smart-casual 'fit. We caught the aforementioned founder and head designer, Chris Gove, for a word on his inspiration for the ‘Bobcat’ cardigan: “Mohair is very in right now across menswear and formed a strong base for our AW23 collection. The ‘Bobcat’ is a lovely brushed wool piece with big cottage core energy. Perfect buttoned up, thrown over a plain white tee. Bob(cat)'s your uncle and all that. Jamie has nailed it.”

But Dornan's insatiable desire for Percival didn't end there. The actor opted for yet another Perci creation, namely the varsity-inspired ‘Koi Applique’ cardigan, for wear on The One Show late last month.

Again giving us his two cents, Gove says of the piece: “We love the 'Koi' design at Percival, don't we? It's a consistent and reoccurring staple across our tees, sweats and now cardis. This is such a warm one for winter and is, obviously, super stylish.”

For the full Dornan, pair your cardigans with some simple, straight-leg trousers and a pair of white trainers. Bonus points for a perfectly groomed beard.
