The JJJJound x New Balance 993 is another clean, cool collab to start the year

It's exactly what you'd expect from the label, and that's why we love it

Towards the end of last year, rumours of the JJJJound x New Balance 993 starting floating about. It was a pretty big deal, because not only was this yet another banging JJJJound x New Balance collab, it was also the Montreal-based label's first ever 993. And while early reports suggested that only one colourway was in the works, it looks like two are on the way. A nice surprise!

In NB's 99X series, the 993 has always been a little on the sidelines. But this season, the Boston sportswear company's going all-out. Both pairs work on top of ‘Military Urban Grey’ mesh and are overlaid by pigskin suede panels throughout. The first sneaker opts for a classic grey colour scheme and contrast black details, while the second goes for a lovely olive with ‘Agora’ accents.

New Balance's “N” logo is stitched across the lateral and medial sidewalls, and down below, the beefy midsole is infused with Abzorb tech for added comfort and bounce. JJJJound's signature serif marque is stamped around the heel, and both trainers are finished off with the all-important “Made in USA” tagline on the tongue, just to remind you that, yes, these are made in the USA.

And the 993 isn't JJJJound's only big drop this year. The Justin Saunders-helmed design studio also has an Adidas Superstar 80 on the way that's crafted in Japan, and it's also set to reunite with Asics and Reebok within the coming months.

The JJJJound x New Balance 993 ‘Military Urban Grey’ is dropping sometime this spring. Set to be available at JJJJound, New Balance, and select stockists globally, they'll set you back about £210 each.
