Ever since the first season of The Bear hit our screens back in 2022, Marcus Brooks (played by Lionel Boyce) has always been known for his streetwear finesse. We're talking ultra hyped brands like Off-White and cult Japanese labels like The Strike Gold. And this theme continued well into season 3, as everyone's fave TV pastry chef took his New Balance collection to the next level.

Marcus' love for the Boston sportswear company is revealed within the first 15 minutes of episode 1, when he's spotted donning a white tee and jeans alongside a pair of Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance Rainier Low, specifically in the brown and green colourway. Now, he has rocked ALD in the past, but the fact that he was able to cop this collab proves that he's very serious when it comes to his trainers. Especially when you consider that it sold out within minutes back in '22.

Throughout the rest of the latest season, he frequently wears the 990v1 ‘Grey’ as his everyday beater. But in episode 5, he whipped the 998 ‘Black’ out while having a candid convo with Sydney. Released at the end of last year, this is probably one of the most underrated silhouettes in New Balance's entire 99X series. Working on top of a breathable mesh base (for those extra stuffy shifts in the kitchen), it's decked out in pigskin suede, and sits on top of a thiccc Abzorb foam midsole. What's more, all of this is made in the US of A, baby!

While Marcus Brooks is definitely a lot quieter compared to the rest of the squad, his sneaker rotation speaks volumes. And it's making us hyped to see what he'll be cooking up come season 4.
