Drake's watch collection might be the most impressive in the world

Drake's ‘Scorpion’ album broke streaming records; the value of his watch box is commensurate with his success…

He may own a lot of things but Canadian rapper Drake's watch collection is like no one else's. He has one of the finest mansions Architectural Digest has ever decided to give us a tour of, holds the record for the most top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and has a stellar car collection, consisting of everything from a Bugatti Veyron to a steel-grey Lamborghini Aventador Roadster.

But where he really means business is his watch collection, which is of ridiculously high value. For Drake, nothing is off limits. Diamonds and crystals are this man's best friend (just take a look at his jewellery collection) and his gaudy horological stash is reflective of his tastes. Full of A-list brands such as Rolex and Audemars Piguet, his watch box goes big on customisation.

Here are some of the best in Drake's watch collection that he's worn over the years…

Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40Rolex
Rolex 18K White Gold Rolex Day Date 40

We all know Drake loves basketball and recently he was spotted at a lowkey Canadian Elite League match between Scarborough Shooting Stars and the Hamilton Honey Badgers supporting none other than his good friend and fellow rapper J Cole, who is aspiring to be a basketball player. As is always customary with Drake, he was sporting some serious horological drip as what he was wearing wasn't just any old Day Date 40. It is factory set with a pave dial that boasts eight baguette-cut diamonds and two sapphire baguette-cut diamonds as hour markers. We're not done there, though, as there is also the small matter of  48 round-cut diamonds around the bezel.

Rolex 18K Yellow Gold Day Date 36

A month earlier, at a slight more high profile game watching the Raptors, Drake was spotted frow (obvs) wearing another Day Date, though this time a 36mm in 18K yellow gold. The turquoise dial is quite the showstopper, as is the obligatory diamond-set bezel as well as the diamonds running through the bracelet. Courtside has never looked so bling.

Rolex x Chrome Hearts Day-Date

In 2020, while cruising around in his Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Landaulet (naturally), Drake gave us a glimpse of his eye-catching Rolex x Chrome Hearts model. Flashy, and unaffordable for most mortals, the custom timepiece – yet another Day Date – features a polished gold dial and hands, plus a silver case encrusted with baguette-cut diamonds.

What makes it look especially unusual is that Rolex's “President” bracelet has been replaced with an extravagant Chrome Hearts-designed number (remember when Matt LeBlanc wore an OTT Chrome Hearts leather sling in 1996?) dotted with bejewelled crosses.

Patek Philippe Nautilus

Drake's custom Patek Philippe might be eye-catching, but probably won't impress the Swiss watchmaker itself, which, like other top marques, frowns upon custom models. This slimed-out, emerald-encrusted Patek Philippe Nautilus was actually mentioned in his track “The Life Is Good”, which dropped earlier this year; a couple of days later Champagne Papi was boasting about it over on the 'gram.

It was made in collaboration with Mad Paris and designed by Virgil Abloh, Now that's pedigree.

1017 ALYX 9SM x Mad Paris x Audemars Piguet

While many of us pressed pause on spending this year, Drake carried on with abandon. He flashed this Alyx-customised Audemars Piguet Royal Oak back in July, which was made in cahoots with bespoke jewellery designer to the stars Mad Paris.

A favourite among the rich and famous, with fans including Kanye West, Jay-Z, Justin Bieber and Neil Patrick Harris, AP's Royal Oak doesn't need any updating – but Drake and Alyx designer Matthew Williams went there. The result features an industrial steel case, brushed steel face, plus AP and 1017 Alyx 9SM signatures.

At the time, only 40 of these custom AP Royal Oak watches were made available to buy, at a hefty price of $47,995.

Jacob & Co Astronomia Casino

Jacob & Co produces famously elaborate showpieces. For most, a standard model would be interesting enough. For Drake, more is more. His own Jacob & Co design features a double-axis tourbillon, a magnesium-lacquered globe and time display, all rotating around the dial every ten minutes.

Underneath there is a working roulette table with ceramic ball, while on top lies a one-carat, 288-facet Jacob-cut diamond, which spins through a full rotation every 30 seconds. Overly complicated, but – dammit – really quite alluring.

Rolex Day-Date 40

Late in 2019, Drake brought “Hotline Bling” to life by wearing a true classic. Cast in 18-carat gold, Drake's Rolex Day-Date 40 is a staple of the Swiss powerhouse.

Part of its allure is simply the metal. The Swiss brand creates its very own formulas for three different kinds of gold (just as it uses its own, special ‘904L’ stainless steel).

Nautilus Perpetual Calendar

Attending the Uninterrupted Canada launch in Toronto with LeBron James, Drake's tie-dye might have been eye-catching, but it couldn't distract us from his timepiece.

The watch in question is a small and famous masterpiece. The first Grand Complication in the Patek Philippe Nautilus collection, the reference 5740/1G is the thinnest PP perpetual calendar you can get your hands on, thanks to an ultra-svelte self-winding calibre 240 Q movement. The white-gold watch features a dial that is 40mm wide and 8.4mm thick, with a sapphire-crystal caseback so you can admire what's happening under the hood.

And how much will it cost you? £103,830 at retail – but good luck with that.

Richard Mille RM 69 ‘Erotic’

This Richard Mille RM 69 “Erotic” is kitsch at its finest. Not only did Drake have the balls to wear the piece in public – to an NBA Finals game, no less – he left it set to the words, “I'd love to kiss your p***y.” Not for everyone, but there's no denying this RM 69 is Drake-appropriate.

What does the man who has everything gift himself on his 35th birthday? A custom, never-before-seen Richard Mille, of course. The timepiece, which Drake flaunted on Instagram, comes with an entirely see-through sapphire crystal back, a tachymeter and clear crown band done up in a deep midnight blue. Previously acquired by Pristine Jewelers in New York City, Twitter's avid chronograph collectors are suggesting the watch costs upwards of $5 million.
