Black is back at the Golden Globes

The women of Hollywood wore black on the red carpet last night in protest of the sexual harassment they face within the industry. Here are the gentleman that stood with them in sartorial solidarity. At the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles last night, the women of Hollywood collectively wore black in protest of the sexual harassment women are systematically subjected to in Tinseltown. It was all part of the new Time’s Up initiative, a legal defence fund founded by women in the entertainment industry to support women who have been subjected to abuse in show business and beyond. Many of the men in attendance dressed in solidarity too. Though this may not sound like much of a stretch, given that the ceremony’s black-tie dress code kind of lends itself to the cause, there were several men who went all black (shirt included) and looked surprisingly smart doing it. Ewan McGregor (who received a gong for his work on Fargo) opted for an all-black suit, shirt and tie combo, while Chris Hemsworth eschewed a tie altogether, opting instead for a perfectly cut black paisley suit from Etro with an open-neck black shirt and a killer tan. Other all-black winners on the night included William H Macy in a moody black shirt, bow tie and velvet jacket get-up; Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin in a black Ports 1961 suit and rollneck; Timothée Chalamet in an elegant black shaw collar suit, black shirt and bow tie from Parisian brand Berluti; and Justin Timberlake in all-black Dior Homme. Elsewhere, Jude Law opted for a perfectly cut Saint Laurent smoking jacket in black grain de poudre with velvet shawl collar, Liev Schreiber wore Tom Ford with a slick, stud-fastened dress shirt and Armie Hammer went for an ultra-elegant, brilliantly classic black Giorgio Armani tux. The most notable accessory of the night? The "Time’s Up" lapel badges worn by the vast majority of the aforementioned stars. See the looks below.
