The land of royalty continues to remain a favourite wedding spot among celebrities, thanks to the ample amount of forts, palaces and heritage properties to choose from, away from the eyes of the paparazzi. From the newlyweds Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chaddha to billionaires Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal, here are some celebrity couples who ditched fancy foreign locations and got married in Rajasthan.

1. Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chaddha

Actress Parineeti Chopra and AAP politician Raghav Chadha's recent nuptials in Udaipur was a private affair, consisting of the couple's closest friends and family members. The wedding took place in Udaipur’s Leela Palace, a venue situated in the middle of Lake Pichola. The three-day affair included a mehendi ceremony on Friday, a haldi and sangeet night on Saturday and the wedding on Sunday where the groom took his baaraat to the venue via boat, according to the reports.

2. Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra

Earlier this year, the Shershaah actors Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra won the internet with their wedding video which was shot at Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer. Seated in the Thar Desert, the luxury hotel takes a gorgeous golden hue with an amalgamation of Rajput and Mughal architecture.

3. Raveena Tandon and Anil Thadani

When Raveen Tandon, the 90s superstar, announced her wedding in 2004, the actress broke many hearts across the country. Married for almost two decades now, the actress tied the knot with businessman Anil Thadani in Udaipur. The ceremonies were held at the Shiv Niwas Palace, which is owned by the erstwhile royal family of Udaipur.

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal’s wedding was so discreet that rumours went wild saying that the couple was shooting down drones that were invading their private affair. The duo tied the knot in December 2021 at Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur district. Sitting in the lap of Aravali and Vindhya Hills, the location is right out of a fairy tale and perfect for an intimate ceremony.

In 2017, actor Neil Nitin Mukesh and Rukmini Sahay said their vows in a close-knit ceremony in Udaipur. The couple tied the knot in Radisson Blu Palace Resort and Spa with a three-day celebration of mehendi, haldi, sangeet and a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony in 2017.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s wedding felt right out of a Mira Nair movie. The couple had two weddings–one as per the Hindu traditions and the other one was a Christian white wedding. Their marriage was short-lived and the two announced their separation in 2010 and divorce in 2011.

Hansika Motwani had her dream “big fat Indian wedding” in a 450-year-old fort in Jaipur. The actress married her longtime friend and business partner Sohael Khaturiya in December 2022 at the Mundota Fort and Palace. The palace was built around 1550 and is India’s first luxury heritage polo resort that comprises a 14th-century hilltop war fort, a palace at the foothill, and a private horse polo ground.

10. Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal

Even the Ambanis could not resist the charm and royalty of Rajasthan. When Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s daughter Isha got married to Anand Piramal, it was a multi-city affair. While the roka ceremony and a proposal party were held at their home Antilla in Mumbai, their engagement ceremony overlooked the picturesque Lake Como in Italy. Their pre-wedding celebrations were held at The Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur, with the wedding taking place at the Ambani residence in Mumbai.
