Mumbai is India’s most expensive city. And one of the priciest things you can buy here is real estate. And even though reports suggest that the industry is in a bad phase, due to low sales, it seems like nothing is too expensive for the rich. And such is the case for the Soi family who paid a record ₹111 crore for two flats in a Worli high rise.

The first flat was purchased by Abhay Soi, the head of Radiant Life Care that manages the Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle. He paid a staggering ₹54 crore for a flat on the 36th floor of the Three Sixty West Apartments, located on Dr Annie Besant Road in Worli. The building is still under construction and is set to the be the second tallest residential building in India with 85 floors.

The second flat was purchased by Taruna Soi, another member of the family, on the 37th floor of the same building. She paid ₹57.25 crore for her apartment. Since the flats are numbered 5304 and 5204, it is assumed that the two will be turned into a duplex. Buying two flats in the same building means that the Soi family will have access to 10 car parks. And the family shelled out ₹6.5 crore as stamp duty for the registration.

The family, who currently resides in Peddar Road, has refused to comment on their new purchase.

But what we do know, is that their new neighbours are going to be Bollywood’s very own Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput. Earlier this year, it was reported that the couple had bought an 8,625 sq ft house in the same high rise for ₹55.9 crore in June 2018.

Another one of their neighbours will be Niraj Bajaj, the Chairman and MD of the stainless-steel company, Mukand. Last year, in a record deal, he had bought a flat for ₹120 crore. Besides Shahid, Abhishek Bachchan and Akshay Kumar have also invested ₹41.14 crores and ₹29.94 crores respectively in Three Sixty West.
