Oak Street Planting

Traditional Landscape, Portland

The classic grasses and perennials look that the Dutch designer Piet Oudolf pioneered. This planting has a surprisingly long season of interest, and actually pretty low-maintenance. Note: It's not the color that makes this design so striking, its the contrasts and diversity in textures and shapes of inflorescences. The Echinaceas would not pop quite as loud without the soft golden haze of the Deschampsia behind it.
