A resort-like getaway at his Boulder foothills home; a place to relax with family and enjoy the outdoors with great views and privacy from the neighbors—these were the client’s wishes when Black Bear was designed. The owners knew that their site would be a challenge because of the steep grades but they wanted to make sure that they made it as functional and beautiful as possible. The design also needed to compliment the contemporary architecture of the home and meet all the City of Boulder’s Green Point requirements.
