About Us
Debra Koppman is a Bay Area visual and community artist, writer, editor and educator. The creation of public and private painted and mosaic tile murals has become her primary focus. Additionally, she creates mixed media sculpture made largely from recycled materials, as well as prints, hand-made paper, artist-books, and installations. Her abstract work is inspired by and alludes to the folk arts of many cultures of North and South America, Africa, and Asia.
I am an Oakland-based muralist, largely working on public murals in acrylic paint and mosaic tile. I have recently expanded my business to include private residences and offices. I have a special fondness for transforming ugly spaces, cement and stucco walls, and anyplace which might be either prone to graffiti or simply unremarkable. I would be happy to re-imagine your retaining walls, garages, open sides of buildings.
