Exclusive Windows and Doors of Austin

I purchased 3 large and expensive sliding glass doors from Exclusive when I built my house in Austin 3 years ago. Recently, one of the glass panes just popped and shattered. Nothing hit it, no thermal stress, no unusual settling of the foundation that would cause the glass to shatter. It was simply "spontaneous breakage" that I have researched and discovered is actually quite common. This is a result of a defect in the glass that may not be visible to the naked eye. I contacted Exclusive immediately because I had a alleged 10 year warranty from the manufacturer Heritage Doors and Windows (since purchased by Andersen Windows). Exclusive charged me $136 just to come out and look at the door! Then they turned me over to the manufacturer as if to wash their hands of me. Not their problem! Well guess what? Heritage/Andersen refuses to honor their warranty. One major reason we chose this product was because the sales dept at Exclusive assured me that the were customer oriented, the products they sold were of the best quality, and that their suppliers stood by their products and warranties. Yeah right! To add insult, Exclusive quoted $3100 to replace the broken glass pane. I had another contractor (Glass Doctor - good company) replace it for $2050. I don't recommend doing business with Exclusive Windows and Doors. They don't seem to care once your check is cashed!

I have worked with Exclusive W&D for over a decade and have absolutely nothing but the best to say. They carry the best lines of windows and doors available, they are professional, prompt, astute and supportive. 5 out of 5 form me! Keep it up EWDA!
