Having Jeff Steffen as our contractor made a cumbersome project be enjoyable. I never hesitated to question, request or suggest anything to him as he always followed through in a positive, knowledgable way. If needed, he would explain things in a thoughtful manner. He would not hold back to offer his opinion, which was always sensible. Since we did not have a designer, it was just him and us; he gave us his genuine opinion each time. We were told not have wood decking, which we wanted, since there were different woods in use in the exterior and interior of the house and that it would compete. He always reminded us to remember the lines and style of the house when choosing the hundreds of items we had to choose. He helped us to cut corners and save where we could, but also let us know where it was worth spending the extra bit. Mostly, he is a kind, warm, thoughtful, joyful person with a proper amount of sense of humor and such a perfectionist, which is what you want a contractor to be!
