I really liked working with Jim of J&M. He gives contractors a good name because he is professional, responsive, detailed, punctual, communicative, timely and personable. We felt his bid was reasonable, as was his projected timeline, so we hired him to design and install a gas fireplace with built-ins for our vaulted ceiling living room. I had my own ideas about design but he was able to manifest those ideas with his team of designers, craftsmen and tradesmen and we are very pleased with the end result. As is typical with any type of home improvement project we came across some issues with the build - in particular, the codes for installing the fireplace impacted our original design. Jim, together with us and the fireplace installers, reached a compromise on how to move forward. What I liked about Jim was his ability to take our design concerns and come up with a workable solution that fit the building code requirements. I felt his craftsmen and tradesmen were top-notch. They were talented, professional, courteous and punctual and left a clean worksite which I especially appreciated. The coordination between the various vendors and other workers was seamless and we always knew what, who, and when to expect same. Which is critical when you have a pack of dogs like we do! :) Down the road we have a couple more home improvement projects we'd like to undertake and plan on contacting J&M for those needs. I highly recommend this contractor!

Jim Manford and his crews did a great job. We leveled our sunken living room and updated the kitchen. We are very happy with all his work and would use him again.

Jim remodeled our master bath, taking out a large tub and enlarging a shower. It is beautiful and his workers were wonderful. A few months later he built us an outdoor kitchen that is fantastic. The workmanship is to perfection! We highly recommend him .

J & M Construction has done several jobs for me . I have continued to use him first and foremost because I felt his bids/work was honest and fair, and he was consistently timely with responses to questions and job completion. When complications arose, I felt J & M was honest and willing to resolve issues at his expense when rightly justified. He seems to go above and beyond helping the customer to be happy with his work. I have always been pleased with the results.

Jim is an incredibly professional, friendly, can-do builder who took all of our suggestions seriously and considered the best way to get things done. He transformed our dowdy little living space into a sharp, magazine-worthy beauty. He is realistic, down to earth, and very approachable. We enjoyed working with him and would recommend him without hesitation!

We have used J & M Construction and Remodeling for three different projects- Siding and windows, Kitchen, Living remodel, and Master Bath/ whole house flooring remodel. Jim Manfred has always been supportive of our wishes, completed work on schedule, and always respectful in his communications. When questions came up, he was immediately responsive. His workers do quality jobs and clean up of the work site was completed each day before they left. We have high regard for Jim's work and have recommended him and will continue to recommend him to others. He also has a positive reputation for quality work with companies that he referred us to for supplies.

He was prompt, understood the job well before his crews started, finished on time, and was responsive to all our requests during the job. The finished Casita looks even better than we expected.
