About Us

Southern Elegance Design and Landscape is the culmination of years of hard work and the ultimate dream of owner, Steve York. Ever since he had his first encounter working within the landscape industry at Pike Nursery in 1991, he knew that operating his own company was what he ultimately wanted to do. Steve has been a part of the landscape industry in Atlanta for over 20 years. His ability to transform customer’s ideas into drawings has allowed him to succeed in today’s competitive market. His interest in the landscape industry started at an early age while working as a customer service representative with Pike Nursery in Alpharetta, GA. While there, he quickly decided that this was what he wanted to do for a career. Steve graduated from Auburn University’s College of Architecture, Design and Construction with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. Southern Elegance provides complete design services, along with installation and maintenance, for anything you can dream up outside of your home. Our focus is on custom residential jobs. Whether it is a simple cleanup to a complete transformation, we are here to help lead you through the process.

Steve and his talented crew from Southern Elegance Design and Landscape gave our entire yard a beautiful transformation! We are so happy with the outcome. We love it!!! Our project included new retention walls, a large stone paver patio, dry creek beds, a running stream, stone steps & walkway, an irrigation system, outdoor lighting, newly landscaped deer resistent plant beds and sod for the entire yard. Throughout the project, Steve and his crew were professional, prompt, neat, courteous, dependable and responsive to all of our concerns. They even accommodated changes and additions we requested during the project. We highly recommend Southern Elegance Landscape and Design and would definitely hire them for any future projects. Currently we have hired them to maintain our yard on a monthly basis including mowing, fertilizing and trimming!

We live at the top of a hill and had no access to most of our backyard by tract housing builder design. The pine trees were encroaching on the house. Southern Elegance did a tiered stoned patio with firepit, improved the grade and drainage of property, put in new sod, plants, and straw. The entire crew were hard workers, respectful, and cleaned up each day. This oasis has definitely added value to our property but the enjoyment we are getting is priceless!

We were so impressed with Steve and his crew from the very first meeting. His design is beautiful, colorful, deer friendly and low maintenance. His crew was professional and courteous. We also loved tbe 18 months same as cash option for financing. We have had several neighbors stop by to tell us how great it looks. We couldn't be happier. We would definitely hire him again if we needed additional work done.

We are EXTREMELY PLEASED with our full landscape design and installation. Steve at Southern Elegance worked closely with us on a creative design for a full landscape plan with an expansive hardscape patio, areas for grill, hot tub, outdoor dining section and lower level fire pit. Also included landscape with sprinkler system, beautiful trees/shrubs, sod and fencing. Their landscape team was prompt and came daily through out the project. I was impressed that they were flexible with our modification requests in the middle of the project. I own my company and customer service is always a focus, therefore I am tough critic. This team did an excellent job and I am glad to highly recommend them.

Our whole experience with Southern Elegance was top notch. Steve, the owner, showed up on time the day we agreed to meet for a quote and was easy to work with while explaining what we were going through. He quickly put together a plan to solve our drainage problem and explained to me exactly what it would do. The install crew was the hardest working guys I have ever seen. They put up a retaining wall to keep our driveway from sliding off into our neighbors yard. On the other side of the house they installed drain boxes, ran drain pipes, raised and leveled our A/C units, put in decorative rock for a bed and re-soded the yard. The results are beautiful and our drainage problems are fixed! They did such an amazing job that we have already rehired them to install all new flowers and bushes in our front yard. We can't wait to see the results! I highly recommend anyone that needs any outdoor work done to contact Southern Elegance!

Very please with the work Steve and his crew did in my backyard. Steve designs were excellent and his personal commitment to make sure I was satisfied was very evident. During our walk through after the completion of the project, he noticed a couple of things that he was not 100% pleased with. The next day he had his crew make the necessary changes. Southern Elegance will be doing my front yard this winter!

I highly recommend Steve and team for all of your landscape/hardscape projects. They helped us with design and installation and we were extremely pleased with all aspects of the job. They installed retaining walls, custom firepit, and landscaping to compliment. I just placed us on their schedule for another section of our yard for design and installation. I really enjoyed working with Steve and team and will be happy to discuss with you if needed

After Southern Elegance built our retaining wall, we hired them to install our new patio. Let it suffice to be said that we could not be happier with having Steve York do this work for us. Willing to please, flexible when there was a last minute change. Wonderful workmanship. Could noir ask for more!

Steve was a pleasure to work with on our extensive backyard project. Retaining walls, landscaping, grading, stump removal, new pool, and much more. We added on a significant amount of work as the project progressed and Steve figured out a way to make it all happen. We routinely receive compliments on our backyard. I would not hesitate to recommend Steve and Southern Elegance.

Commented: Broken BranchesYou can definitely prune that out. Use sharp pruners and make a clean cut just above the next bud set / node / limb on the branch. It will put new growth on and should recover just fine. With fruit ...
