Diamond Head Windows & Doors

Diamond Head Windows replaced our windows in 2017. They are a very reliable company, know their product well, and everything said about the windows turned out to be true. These windows are incredibly easy to maintain and the screens spring out of the frame for easy cleaning. One thing that attracted me to the company was the lifetime warranty for screen replacements. This past week I noticed two screens with holes. I called on Monday (August 26,2019) and John Rice came to repair them on Thursday. The job was done efficiently and the screens replaced in less than an hour. Such a pleasure to have selected a great company from product to customer service!

Very prompt coming out to give me an estimate and later to take measurements. They kept their word and as advertised matched a competitor's prices for the same job. It is important to remember that these high quality windows and doors are manufactured on the Mainland and then shipped to Hawaii. It takes at least two months to get them and after that to schedule installation. Installation was smooth and professional. The only criticism I have which is why I did not give them five stars is the customer service could be improved. I found I had to be my own best advocate and reach out to find out the status of my order multiple times and when there was a minor problem that needed to be corrected, I had to keep on it.

This is the review I posted on Yelp: My girlfriend (the one who showed me how to use Yelp and is way brighter than me) got her patio door replaced a couple years back by these guys. I've only known her for the last year so her ravings are all second hand. Anyway, she got a vinyl door made by Amerimax. Still mentions about how clean and courteous the installing guys were. I figured they were probably just real cute. She was single then. Well, that thing slid so much better than my awful aluminum patio door that I finally thought "what the heck" and called Mark at Diamond Head Windows to come give me a bid. Mark was not model cute (don't get me wrong, he was fine looking for an older dude; her standards are high; not sure how I fit in to her plan; she tells me she doesn't know either) but he was sure nice and helpful and had a sharp pencil. I got a such a sweet deal on the door I decided to do the rest of the mangy windows. They needed to go too. Big time! Mark explained all of the process, another guy came out to measure (can't remember his name; he had a measuring tape though), they ordered the windows from the California factory, they packed them up when they were all built, shipped them to Hawaii, and called me to set up putting them in. The crew was clean and courteous and had the dang job done in just one day! I don't have a ton of windows but ... freakin' amazing! Now it's quieter and cooler all the time in my island casa. I couldn't be more pleased. Hire these boys. They rock!

Diamond Head Windows delivered on time and as promised. All the staff we dealt with from the sales person to the window and siding installers were always courteous and helpful. I really have to give Mark a lot of credit for his patience. I couldn't decide on the color of the siding and actually had him come to our home 3 times before finally settling on a final choice. And, through all of that, he was always so kind and professional. We also appreciated the fact that throughout the process of removing very old siding and windows, the whole process was done in an orderly and neat fashion.

Complete windowe and sliding doors plus bay window. Roger, really knew what was needed and had all the skills to make it happen. Still trying to get a few little details taken care of or I would have given them 5 stars. Sixteen windows / doors involved. Steve the sales / estimator also did a very good job and made one suggestion which turned out great with 3 difficult windows.

If you are looking for big modern aluminum sliding glass doors in Hawaii, there's really only two companies to chose from: Fleetwood and Western. Diamond Head are the local reps for Western. I spent a long time speaking to different suppliers and in the end concluded that Western has both a superior product and, through Diamond Head, a superior distributor. I was looking at an order worth more than $80k, yet I could never get the local Fleetwood guy to return my calls or emails - he really didn't seem to care. By contrast the local rep for Western, Mac McMinn jumped on a plane from Maui and came to me house. So did Mark McKinstry, the owner of Diamond Head - twice. The windows are a dream to install, really easy, look great, look fabulous. Service from Diamond Head's General Manager, Steve Pearson, is impeccable. He answers calls and emails instantly. When one roller on one of the sliding doors turned out to have a stripped adjustment screw, he drove to the North Shore to pick up a replacement and deliver to me in less than 24 hours. The installation guy Kenny is also really helpful and efficient.
