During the inauguration of the 18th Asia Pacific Conference of German Business (APK) in New Delhi, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Piyush Goyal, highlighted the potential of India and Germany's collaboration in driving global advancements. He emphasised that Germany’s expertise in precision engineering, combined with India's capacity to scale its physical, digital, and social infrastructure, could lead to extraordinary developments. He pointed out the synergies between the two nations, encompassing areas such as artificial intelligence adoption, semiconductor development, fostering India's vibrant startup ecosystem, and collaborating on green technology, which could facilitate unprecedented economic growth.
He noted India's robust macroeconomic fundamentals and readiness for future challenges, reinforcing the nation's commitment to addressing climate change, as demonstrated during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21) 2015. He acknowledged India's ranking of 7th in the Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) and its determination to exceed its nationally determined contributions (NDCs). He expressed gratitude to the Asia Pacific Committee of German Business and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce for hosting the event to identify emerging trends and address global challenges. During the festive season, he encouraged participants to embrace India's rich culture and diversity.
