- First Person: ‘God is working’ in Ukraine Jan. 4, 2024 In times of great need or despair, we’ve seen firsthand what the world’s greatest problem is, and it’s not war or hunger. It’s spiritual lostness. I recently watched people line up outside a church as air raid sirens sounded in Ukraine. The church was not a bomb shelter. They weren’t distributing food. It wasn’t even a Sunday. People stood in line, awaiting their turn so they could hear about the hope of Jesus Christ!
- War changes face of ministry to Deaf Ukrainians Nov. 13, 2023 In Ukraine, Oleh and Marianna weren’t permitted to lead ministry to the Deaf because they are Deaf. Missions tugged at their hearts, but due to cultural norms, it wasn’t a possibility until recently.
- IMB using telemedicine to create gospel access Sep. 14, 2023 Sitting in a home office in Ohio, a doctor logs onto her laptop at 3:30 a.m. Across the globe it’s mid-morning. The doctor smiles at a face that pops up on her screen. Consulting with her patient, she asks what brought him in today. Then she listens, in real time, to his heartbeat.

“It’s been amazing to see how God has used IMB workers with significant language skills and cultural understanding to minister to these refugees right now. Other groups and even local governments are struggling to come up with a plan and find people who can communicate with the refugees, and national Baptist churches and our people are already meeting them at train stations and bus stops as they arrive and jumping right into ministry. Truly God is at work. These older stories from the region highlight the time God was preparing them and the newer stories highlight how He’s using them now. It’s an awesome narrative together.”

Pray for Ukraine
After eight years of ongoing conflict, Russia has launched a wide-ranging war on Ukraine, causing a catastrophic humanitarian crisis for the Ukrainian people.
Send Relief, a cooperative ministry between the International Mission Board and the North American Mission Board, is working with local Baptist partners in Ukraine to care for displaced families in desperate need of help and hope.
You can help! There is extraordinary power in prayer. Here are ten ways you can pray for the Ukraine crisis.
Pray for:
- The people of Ukraine as the war progresses. Pray for strength, courage and perseverance as their homeland is devastated by war.
- Safe passages out of war zones for displaced populations.
- Government officials to lead with wisdom in this tense time.
- The millions of displaced people who will be forcibly removed from their homes during the war. Pray that in the face of war, they find psychological, emotional and spiritual healing from this trauma.
- Pray for those involved in this war, especially those who do not know Christ.
- Local churches, missionaries and relief workers to care for the massive wave of refugees coming out of Ukraine and internally displaced populations.
- Disciples Church in L’viv, Ukraine, and its church plant in Bryukhovychi. Many of the people there are displaced from the East. Pray for peace for these believers as they had hoped conflict from 8 years ago was over, and now, they are facing it again.
- The Ukrainian Baptist Theological Seminary as it wrestles with how to assist its students in this time of war.
- Ukrainian believers as they seek to be a light in the darkness.
- Ukrainians who have never heard the gospel to have an opportunity to experience the hope of Jesus.

Your Generous Gifts Provide
The IMB exists to take
the good news of Jesus
to every corner of the earth.
As one of the leading global missions organizations in the world, the IMB prioritizes getting missionaries to the people and places of the world who have never heard the gospel.
IMB is unique as a missionary sending agency in that most of the missionaries sent from their churches through IMB are sent out fully funded and do not have the burden or distraction of traveling back and forth to the U.S. to seek financial support.
We work in over 150 countries, focusing on evangelism, discipleship, healthy church formation, and pastoral training.
IMB provides every missionary the best-in-class biblical preparation, global research and comprehensive care for their cross-cultural life and ministry.
