Dana Harris-Bridson is the Senior Vice President and Editor in Chief at IndieWire. Since she joined the publication in 2011 as its Editor in Chief, IndieWire expanded its focus on independent film to include in-depth coverage of television, blockbusters, and the crafts that go into creating the best in film and TV. Under her 12 years of leadership, IndieWire readership increased by 10,000% and the publication has received multiple Webby Awards, Southern California Journalism Awards, and National Arts and Entertainment Journalism Awards.
Dana began her entertainment journalism career in 1995 and attended her first Sundance Film Festival in 1996. Since then she has covered the world’s biggest film festivals and spent more than a decade as a writer, editor, and executive at Variety before joining IndieWire. She’s written about the real reason why Netflix’s Martin Scorsese movie “The Irishman” failed to win a single Oscar, the brilliance of HBO’s Italian TV crime drama “Gomorrah,” and the oral history of FX’s true-story Mormon murder mystery “Under the Banner of Heaven.” Dana still likes saying she used to be a chef (it was a long time ago) and she still loves to cook. Her favorite TV shows are “Fauda,” “Gommorah,” and “The Great British Baking Show.” The ending of “Aftersun” made her cry and she is helpless to resist any opportunity to watch “Michael Clayton” again.
