Veronica Flores

Veronica Flores

Veronica Flores is IndieWire’s Los Angeles-based Social Media Manager. She previously worked as a social editor for E! News and celebrity-owned publication Nobleman Magazine. Her expertise is in digital strategy and creating social-first campaigns for industry leading brands. She’s covered world premieres and major award shows, from indie film red carpets to the Academy Awards.

Originally from the Bay Area, she had high hopes to launch a career in entertainment and settle down in Southern California where she now resides. Like most origin stories, she found herself at a crossroads when choosing what side of the industry she wanted to work in. In college, she studied music for the first year but eventually retired dreams of becoming a pop star to pursue a degree in Public Relations (a decision heavily influenced by Samantha Jones). She worked as a PR coordinator after graduation and wondered “is there more to this life than writing press releases and clipping?” – this existential question prompted a career change into the world of social media.

Social media management quickly became a passion. The first company she worked for had little to no social presence or strategy which led her to create the brand’s first Social Media Guide. From there, she capitalized on her ability to cultivate a community around a brand and ultimately find new ways to generate website traffic. Starting from the bottom has been something she is grateful for as it led her to work with the number one entertainment news network and some of the industry’s most respected publications.

Veronica is chronically online but when she’s not, she un-ironically enjoys long walks on the beach and discussing early 2000s rom-coms. Follow her @veronicasoflo
