A video of an apology sign from a McDonald’s restaurant in the United States has gone viral for its rather savage explanation as to why there was such little staff on duty.
In the TikTok video, which was shared by user @brittanyjade903, the particular chain of the fast-food giant appeared to be having some difficulties when the video was posted on Saturday.
A small yellow sign greeted customers who were waiting to be served in the restaurant's drive-through.
Above the order here instructions the sign simply said: “We are short-staffed. Please be patient with the staff that did show up. No one wants to work anymore.”
The video has already been viewed more than one million times on TikTok with the caption reading: “Y’all. Our McDonald’s is savage AF.”
Although the note is brutally honest about the situation, many have empathised with the staff.
In the comments to the video, many have shown their support. One person wrote: “So true, don’t get mad at the ones there working. They aren’t the reason it’s short-staffed.” Another added: “This is every restaurant in America right now. Be kind and don’t take it out on the staff.”
The impact of coronavirus on the American hospitality industry has left the sector unstable with staff reportedly feeling more inclined to stay away from work due to health and safety concerns.
Just last week, there was a report on a woman who went viral after quitting on the spot after a customer in a restaurant refused to wear a face mask.
News.com.au add that the massive amounts of money that the US government has been paying out to people badly affected by the pandemic has also compelled some people to remain unemployed.
