Hilarious clip shows Oprah Winfrey singing along to Adele – but she doesn’t know the lyrics

We’ve all been there. You’re at a gig, or in a club. Everyone is having a blast singing along to the song that’s playing. You’re enjoying yourself, but there’s one problem — you don’t actually know the lyrics.

Most of us can get away with humming along or lip-syncing — but it’s not so easy to fake when sharing a video of your unconvincing mouthing with your 43 million Twitter followers.

This is exactly what happened to Oprah Winfrey as she “sang” along to Adele’s Hello.

Adele became the latest A-lister to sit down for a tell-all interview with Winfrey ahead of her new album, 30, being released on Friday. Filmed in the same location as Prince Harry and Meghan’s bombshell interview earlier this year, Adele opened up about her divorce, family dynamic, and weight loss journey.

The two-hour special included a pre-recorded concert with a star-studded audience. The likes of Lizzo, Melissa McCarthy, James Corden, Gordon Ramsay and of course, Winfrey, were all in attendance.

But Adele’s candid interview answers and incredible performance were not the only things that had chins wagging.

Enjoying a sing-song with Lizzo while Adele belted out Hello, Winfrey uploaded a clip in which she seems to be struggling to hit the right notes. She certainly had the gist of how the song went, and was definitely putting in the effort, but the lyrical gaps were clear...

Meanwhile Lizzo, in the background of the video, is absolutely killing it.

Winfrey received some light-hearted ribbing on social media for her lip-syncing efforts, with one writing: “When the song is good but you don’t know the lyrics. We’ve been there. Many times. We feel you.”

We get it. If we were that close to Lizzo, we’d also be entirely lost for words.

But if Winfrey had to lip-sync for her life, we’re fairly sure she’d be told to sashay away.
