TikToker bursts out laughing after homeless man he had just bought food for fat-shames him

A man had his good deed backfire upon him after the homeless man he bought fast food for decided to fat-shame him and told him to eat more healthily.

Influencer Stuart Jeffrey, who is from Toronto, Canada shared a video on TikTok earlier this week which has since been viewed more than two million times where he explains the encounter.

“I just got back from … I can’t do it,” Jeffrey starts by saying before he is overcome with laughter. “It’s so terrible,” he manages to say after composing himself but then starts giggling again.

Finally, he pulls himself together and says: “I just got back from McDonald’s where I went to get a coffee, and … there was a homeless man sitting outside and he was like ‘can you spare some change?’ and I was like ‘I can’t, I don’t have any spare change but if you want me to get you something from McDonald’s I am more than happy to.

“So he was like ‘sure can I get a coffee with two creams and a Big Mac?’ So I get his food and I’m handing it to him and I go ‘have a great day’ and he goes ‘errm...in the future, a word of advice, I’d lay off the McDonald’s”

Jeffery then bursts out laughing again but continues on to say: “The worst part was I was fat-shamed for doing a good deed.” Jeffrey captioned the video with: “No, I can’t re-record this, I’m laughing too hard.”

You would think that an incident like this would be a rarity but remarkably the comments are filled with people who’ve had similar experiences.

One person replied: “One time I gave a homeless man at the intersection some money and he said I should clean my car out.”

A woman who was heavily pregnant during her experience explained: “After I gave him his food, as I’m walking away, he says, ‘Hey Lady, you walk like a horse.’”

Actor Lauren Ash chimed in to say: “I once gave a homeless man a 20 while stopped at an intersection. He thanked me and said ‘don’t worry, not all men like skinny women.’”

So there you go, folks. Being a good Samaritan does help but don’t always expect gratitude in response.
