Interfaith America seeks a Grant Writer to support written foundation submissions, work with finance on pre-award budget planning and preparation and post-award project accounting, communicate with program staff on project responsibilities and status, and research new funding opportunities.
We learn and demonstrate a mastery of Interfaith America methodologies, terms, and frameworks in our work and interactions.
We recognize and deliberately seek to engage communities who are not already involved in the work of pluralism, and we modulate our framing and language to involve them.
We share an extraordinary optimism for what our team can accomplish working together while fulfilling our individual responsibilities at a high level of excellence.
Our staff is our most powerful and valuable asset, and we make sound investments in the ongoing development of our professional skills.
Our staff members are deeply curious about religious diversity and are committed to modeling the traits that we teach others.
We have work ethics that align with our goals — but we aren’t workaholics. We do what it takes to get the job done while respecting the need for work/life balance … and we have fun doing it!
At Interfaith America, I am privileged to work with talented colleagues who come from diverse educational and professional backgrounds – higher education, religion, business, nonprofit management, and more – to move forward a shared vision for our religiously diverse democracy. It is energizing to work for an organization that is both laser-focused on the mission and highly adaptable, where we are constantly learning from each other and from the field and innovating in new ways.
– Rebecca Russo, Vice President of Higher Education Strategy

– JENAN MOHAJIR, Vice President of External Affairs
We offer competitive base salaries and tiered annual merit-based increases.
IA pays 100% of the cost to add staff to our medical, dental, and vision plans. Staff who wish to add their dependents to the plans contribute only to the cost of their dependents.
IA pays 100% of the cost of a $50,000 life insurance plan along with 100% of the cost for short-term and long-term disability plans.
We feel work/life balance is key to achieving our mission. IA has a generous paid time off policy. Our staff work from our downtown Chicago Loop office 2–3 days per week and work from home the remaining days.
IA contributes to your retirement account even if you don’t contribute! If you do, IA will match a percentage of your contribution.
IA sets aside $400 per person per fiscal year for you to use towards your own professional development.
