Just as we gaped at phones with touchscreens a few years ago, we're now looking at the first smartphones with flexible displays. In recent days, two of the TOP 3 most important players in this field decided to introduce them - namely Samsung and Huawei. Although both smartphones are quite different from each other, neither solution seems to be bad yet, and only time will tell which type will prove more effective. However, time will tell if they are Galaxy Fold and Mate X are just some kind of shouts into the void, which will not be followed by anything similar for the next few years, or, on the contrary, they are the cornerstones of a new era of smartphones. Of course, we don't know the answer to this question, just as we have no idea how he himself feels about foldable smartphones Apple. Nevertheless, a little can be inferred from his past actions.

That Apple is thinking about creating a flexible iPhone, we have already heard from analysts many times, with many of them agreeing on its arrival in 2020. Of course, we cannot confirm this date, but work on it or at least thoughts about its development can. Apple in the past, he registered a number of patents that could help him in his creation, while the intensity of those that would typically correspond to a foldable smartphone has intensified in recent years. However, this does not necessarily mean that his arrival is near.

In my opinion, the main disadvantage of the early introduction of the foldable iPhone is that Apple is not in the habit of showing the world "just" some prototypes that might perhaps catch on, unlike Samsung and its Galaxy Fold, who already openly admitted during the presentation that he does not expect any miracles from him. If so Apple decides to introduce this type of smartphone, it is quite likely that it will be its flagship and what's more - the only type that you will be able to choose from the menu. Sure, it's to be expected Apple create in more color variants, with more camera lenses or larger displays or displays. However, it is extremely unlikely that he would introduce this new product alongside the "classic" iPhones. You can argue that the X model was also presented alongside the "ordinary" iPhone 8, but when comparing them, it is absolutely clear that there is definitely not such a huge difference between the XS and foldable models in this pair.

As a result, it could be said that it is perhaps in part also a kind of limitation of Apple's offer, which can prevent the arrival of the flexible iPhone. After all, if Apple's portfolio were as broad as, for example, Samsung's, there would be room for another piece in it without a problem - even if it were revolutionary. However, in the case of Apple, which has stuck to the established ruts for many years and is followed by millions of devoted fans who are used to the standard of two or three similar phones, such a deviation is problematic and somewhat unrealistic.

So if you were hoping to Apple will also soon boast its own flexible solution, you should rather stay on the ground. The iPhone, which we will be able to bend in the middle, will probably not be taken out of the box for quite a few more years - if at all. If the attempts of Samsung and Huawei fail, the hope for the future of similar phones will probably disappear, i.e. at least for quite a few years to come. However, this may not happen because they are of poor quality, but also because we are simply not ready for them yet and cannot use them in the way that the manufacturers offer us. After all, even in our discussions, similar smartphones are often condemned with the fact that you simply have no idea what exactly you would do with them. However, this view may of course change in the next few years with the advent of new technologies. However, only time will tell if this is really the case.
