Just as we gaped at phones with touchscreens a few years ago, we're now looking at the first smartphones with flexible displays. In recent days, two of the TOP 3 most important players in this field decided to introduce them - namely Samsung and Huawei. Although both smartphones are quite different from each other, neither solution seems to be bad yet, and only time will tell which type will prove more effective. However, time will tell if they are Galaxy Fold and Mate X are just some kind of shouts into the void, which will not be followed by anything similar for the next few years, or, on the contrary, they are the cornerstones of a new era of smartphones. Of course, we don't know the answer to this question, just as we have no idea how he himself feels about foldable smartphones Apple. Nevertheless, a little can be inferred from his past actions.
That Apple is thinking about creating a flexible iPhone, we have already heard from analysts many times, with many of them agreeing on its arrival in 2020. Of course, we cannot confirm this date, but work on it or at least thoughts about its development can. Apple in the past, he registered a number of patents that could help him in his creation, while the intensity of those that would typically correspond to a foldable smartphone has intensified in recent years. However, this does not necessarily mean that his arrival is near.
In my opinion, the main disadvantage of the early introduction of the foldable iPhone is that Apple is not in the habit of showing the world "just" some prototypes that might perhaps catch on, unlike Samsung and its Galaxy Fold, who already openly admitted during the presentation that he does not expect any miracles from him. If so Apple decides to introduce this type of smartphone, it is quite likely that it will be its flagship and what's more - the only type that you will be able to choose from the menu. Sure, it's to be expected Apple create in more color variants, with more camera lenses or larger displays or displays. However, it is extremely unlikely that he would introduce this new product alongside the "classic" iPhones. You can argue that the X model was also presented alongside the "ordinary" iPhone 8, but when comparing them, it is absolutely clear that there is definitely not such a huge difference between the XS and foldable models in this pair.
As a result, it could be said that it is perhaps in part also a kind of limitation of Apple's offer, which can prevent the arrival of the flexible iPhone. After all, if Apple's portfolio were as broad as, for example, Samsung's, there would be room for another piece in it without a problem - even if it were revolutionary. However, in the case of Apple, which has stuck to the established ruts for many years and is followed by millions of devoted fans who are used to the standard of two or three similar phones, such a deviation is problematic and somewhat unrealistic.
So if you were hoping to Apple will also soon boast its own flexible solution, you should rather stay on the ground. The iPhone, which we will be able to bend in the middle, will probably not be taken out of the box for quite a few more years - if at all. If the attempts of Samsung and Huawei fail, the hope for the future of similar phones will probably disappear, i.e. at least for quite a few years to come. However, this may not happen because they are of poor quality, but also because we are simply not ready for them yet and cannot use them in the way that the manufacturers offer us. After all, even in our discussions, similar smartphones are often condemned with the fact that you simply have no idea what exactly you would do with them. However, this view may of course change in the next few years with the advent of new technologies. However, only time will tell if this is really the case.
No shame.
Apple it is always the most expensive and the most behind, nothing new.
Because alone Apple she's not flexible.. she's already fucked—-if…. for the years that I've been loyal to him, these last 2,3 years he's such a blow
I don't feel like I could do without it, I'd rather stick to the classics.😂
I remember a narrow segment of executive flip-up mobiles.
Considering the prices Galaxy Fold and Mate X, I don't even want to know how much a flexible apple can cost 🤣
Anyway, it's iPhone 6 for the 1st time and now iPad 2018 😀
oi
iPhones have been flexible for some time now :D
Apple had already solved this since the 6th, right? 🤣🤷🏻♂️
The technology is not yet that advanced. These are just the beginnings of the foldable smartphone era. The technology is in its infancy.
Because it will be completely soaked 🤗
I believe the file in the folding iPad makes sense to me, the idea that a person folds the iPad into his pocket and then just unfolds it and has a large tablet is fine. I could also imagine that a person could bend the tablet upwards like a laptop monitor and on the lower part that lies there would be a keyboard, for example...all in all, for me, this technology has a future in tablets and other electronics, not just phones...
Well, it probably means that in a few years the phone will be able to bend 10x and the camera will have 30 lenses 🤮🤮
It doesn't really appeal to me yet, but it's hard to judge until I have a functional piece in my hand to try... :) In principle, however, I find the classic design more practical for everyday use.
Why? Because it's bullshit and it doesn't make any sense.😊
What is a flexible phone for me?
I am "addicted" to the iPad. My iPhone is mainly for the field. If both things were combined in one device, it would be great. But it would have to be a perfect device and not as a "provisional" solution for competitors.
iPhone 6 was said to be so flexible :-)
Well, seriously, they won't make a flexible phone because they would be cannibalizing the MAX mobile and iPad segments at the same time.
I wouldn't even want a foldable phone myself, because the display would definitely be a micro-scratch, which really bothers me, even though it can't be seen. That's why I immediately stick the glass on the iPhone and it goes to the original Apple cover and I am satisfied. Now, when I remember how I did the same thing until recently with Androids around 10K, I have to laugh at it, but it makes sense to me for a mobile phone for almost 40K.
But then again, as if they really invented a scratch-proof display, a foldable design could be nice, you have a mobile phone and a tablet in one :-)
I'm already looking forward in five years to the articles on how Apple comes up with the revolutionary foldable iPhone
For me, it's a step in the right direction, but Apple will figure it out late, as always. And there will be something to copy from the competition.
Apple is not a company that wants to be the first at all costs. Apple he didn't have the first breast print reader, he didn't have the first face scanner, he didn't have the first OLED display, but he made every thing count. The iP5s had the best reader of its time, the iPX the best display and the most advanced face scanner according to tests. One is exhausting his strength to tread a new path, and the other will walk the path in peace and tranquility :-) Apple has patents on the foldable phone, now he can see where competitors have made any mistakes and improve his device. When Apple will be the last of the big brands to make a foldable phone, it's just an advantage because other companies will help it catch flies. It's stupid, but it's true.
There was already a flexible iPhone, right? :D
Those are the comments. Come on folks….
Nowadays, it's all about who did what, did what, did what.
This whole system is pretty laughable..
PS I am not a member of any sect, etc.
TRY TO ENJOY THE LITTLE THINGS AND SEE THAT LIFE IS REALLY GOOD!!
Cus bamboo….
Because it's coco...na
I think it's pointless for now.
I don't look at flexible displays with my mouth open at all - on the contrary - I hope it doesn't see the light of day 😊
It's amazing how fanboys can contradict each other.
What is a flexible phone for me, when we know that everything that is made by a person and has something mechanical will break or break later. And this will go wrong very quickly with the frequency of bending (of course not in laboratory conditions). For me, very practical with a high risk of damage.
No one asked you for your opinion, you moron.
Because it's useless?
Because it honestly sucks.
It's a new technology.
And it would cost an awful lot of money. 🙃
do you mean like rejoicing in SE?
Apple makes amazing products and it is not and will be no shame if it doesn't make any comical flexible or folding phone.
I wouldn't cheer like that. I remember the big fuss around the HTC 3D and attempts at mass 3D deployment and where is it today? Blind development branch. 🤷♂️ What about Samsung Galaxy Round and LG Flex? They disappeared into the abyss of history. Samsung Beam (projector model), I don't know the exact name anymore, LG with DVBT and another Samsung connected with a digital compact... It will be killed either by the price, insufficient durability or the UX of the system, which cannot cope with it.
I would use the flexibility of the flexibility of the display when making normal phones. The phone would be more flexible - body made of something like very hard rubber - durable plastic? which is flexible. It won't scratch when dropped and the phone will bounce back after a slight bend. I don't know why metal is stuffed everywhere, which is heavy when it is thin, so not very resistant in the cold in the winter and does not benefit the battery drain. It heats up again in the summer. It has a touch of luxury, but I think it's just a fad. The flexible display would absorb the blow instead of cracking. It would be a lightweight phone and a durable phone. I don't know how environmentally friendly it would be... and customers would change phones later because they wouldn't be battered and scratched... when I think about it, the services would probably have nothing to live on, so it's probably not a threat.
Jeans
It's not a bad idea at all and... I would only add to the counter-argument with the service the problem that people are chasing prestige and luxury, the rubber would probably fulfill that
Because he can't?? Would that be the right answer?
