With foldable smartphones, the sack has been torn in recent weeks, from which many of us could conclude that it is precisely this type of smartphone that will become the absolute standard in a few years. After all, this is exactly what the two strongest players who presented their versions of folding smartphones – Huawei and Samsung – will strive for. But anyone who would expect that companies would keep this revolutionary technology to themselves is mistaken. According to ETNews, Samsung already provided samples of these displays to Apple and Google.

Samsung is known for being really good at producing displays. It supplies these to many companies, including Apple. Their OLED is also used in the latest iPhone XS. According to ETNews, the South Korean giant wants to build on this "tradition" and dominate the flexible display market in a few years. Therefore, he has already started offering his products to the first companies that might be interested in this technology. Apple, for example, has reportedly provided flexible displays with a diagonal of 7,2″ – that is, 0,1″ smaller than the one used in Galaxy Fold. Currently, the South Korean company can produce roughly 2,4 million displays per year. But if the demand is high, the number can rise to 10 million.

Maybe this is how a foldable iPhone could look like:

Analysts have been speculating about the arrival of a flexible iPhone for many years. Some sources have even claimed in the past that a foldable iPhone could arrive in 2020. And this year, thanks to Samsung's latest move, it doesn't seem unrealistic at all - on the contrary. If other manufacturers come up with similar solutions and it turns out to be suitable, Apple will have no choice but to react as quickly as possible by deploying the same type of iPhone. Only time will tell how it will turn out with flexible Apple devices. Would you like such a device?
