Already today, the first lucky ones received the news presented at the recent keynote. Apple in addition to Mac Studio, the new display and the iPhone SE 3, he also showed the new iPad Air. It must be said that no major changes were expected. The most important thing is the presence of the chip Apple M1, which was information that only surfaced on the day of the show. Until then, the presence of a chip was expected Apple A15 Bionic, which is seen in the latest iPhones. So let's take a look inside the box.
Package contents
The packaging itself is no surprise. The small box essentially only contains the tablet, manuals and an adapter with a USB-C to USB-C connector. The front of the package is decorated with an iPad Air with a lit display. The sides only have Apple logos and product descriptions.
Design
As we mentioned above, no new design innovations were expected from the new Air. So you would look in vain for differences compared to the iPad Air 4. But is it harmful? The front is dominated by a 10,9″ Liquid Retina Multi‑Touch display with LED backlighting, IPS technology and a resolution of 2360 × 1640 at 264 pixels per inch (PPI). True Tone support, P3 color gamut and maximum brightness of up to 500 nits will also please you. As with the previous generation, we have an edge-to-edge display, that is, without monstrous frames at the top and bottom, reminiscent of the iPad Pro. However, there is no Face ID and unlocking is solved using Touch ID moved to the main button on the top of the tablet. Although this is the first time I have encountered this method of unlocking the device, my feelings are very positive so far and the iPad unlocks much better this way than with the classic iPad, where Touch ID is still in the Home Button.
The front side also includes a selfie camera, which has also been improved. The 7 MP camera has been replaced by a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle front camera with a 122° field of view, ƒ/2,4 aperture, Smart HDR 3 and Center Stage support. However, I will test its functioning only as part of the review itself. If we look at the sides of the device, in addition to the already mentioned main button, we can also see the volume control, an improved USB-C connector, a magnetic connector and four speakers, whose performance will be discussed below. Speaking of performance, we can't forget the M1 chip that made the iPad Air a very powerful beast. Furthermore, this piece can boast of 8 GB of RAM. Alone Apple he declared at the conference that it was a device made for gaming. So my first steps will lead to the App Store for games like Genshin Impact, Call of Duty: Mobile, Company of Heroes, Neverwinter Nights and the like.
Battery and first impressions
As you can see a paragraph below, I'm going to give the iPad Air 5 a really hard time. In this model, we find a built-in 28,6Wh rechargeable lithium-polymer battery that provides up to 10 hours of browsing the web on Wi-Fi or watching video. When browsing the web through mobile data, the tablet is said to last 9 hours. Let's see what real numbers the tablet can live up to. As for the first impressions of the tablet as such. I really like the design. The matte blue back with the bitten Apple logo in the middle simply looks great. Since I only have the tablet on for about fifteen minutes and a significant part of this time was spent downloading from iCloud, I can only offer minor observations. The display is perfectly fine for me, although of course the Pro versions are on a different level. The color rendering is pleasant and the resolution sufficient. I was a little disappointed with the sound. I expected something more from four speakers. However, I've only listened to one track so far. Maybe I will change my opinion in the review itself. Did you also receive any of the new devices introduced at the recent keynote today? Let us know.

Somehow I can't imagine switching from face id back to touch id. That would be a step backwards.
What about the back? Information is starting to appear that they should perhaps be thinner and start to feel what is under them and even hear some "peeling"...
Mine pops, especially when it's cold. When it warms up, it's ok. It can't even be properly replicated, it just crashes only occasionally 😔
And is it somehow very noticeable, annoying or does it bother something? I already wanted to bring him here and now I'm undecided 😄 I don't want to give two for Pro 😁
The iPadAir does NOT have four speakers. He only has two. This is one of the differences compared to the Pro models, so the stereo can only work correctly when positioned horizontally, not vertically.
I can confirm the peeling and distortion of the image when pressing a little harder on the display, even if you slightly press your finger on the back, that's what happens with the display. Also the home button wobbles and you can hear it. A basic iPad for almost half the price is solid and doesn't wobble. I'm curious about your review, what do you have to say about it, because I saw it with the exhibited piece as well.
