Practically every week you can read about how in our magazine Apple products have helped save human lives, either by monitoring health functions or by calling for help. However, virtually all of these stories have so far taken place abroad, but that is now "finally" changing. On Saturday evening, two cars collided in Prague's Bubenská street, and the passengers in them called for help from the iPhone of one of them.

One of the heroes of yesterday's traffic accident was the unspecified iPhone 14, which offers the function of detecting a car accident with the ability to call emergency services. At the same time, he introduced this function Apple for the first time only this year with the iPhone 14 (Pro) and Apple Watch 8, SE 2 and Ultra. And as it turns out, it worked great. The emergency line was automatically alerted by the phone shortly after the car accident, and when the operators on it failed to call the owner of the phone back, they sent emergency services to the scene, which subsequently went to the scene of the accident in an attempt to provide the passengers with the necessary help. Fortunately, however, it was not practically necessary, as it was only a minor accident that resulted in no injuries. However, it is great to see that if something really happened to someone in an accident, the iPhone 14 is able to alert the emergency services and therefore increase the chance of survival of the injured. Logically, every minute plays a vital role in similar situations.
Great. For me, one of the key reasons for upragd from 13PM. But I guess I'll wait until the 15th anyway.
"For me, one of the key reasons for upragd from 13PM" ?
Are you serious? After all, every second car has this service today, for example BMW has had an SOS Call System since 2005
Yes, I have that in my car too. Anyway, I drive other cars every day and you don't have to ;-). It doesn't even have my motorcycle, it doesn't even have my bike.
Since 2017, all cars in the EU are required to have it.
And that iPhone just needlessly called 911 for a metal accident with no injuries, I wonder who will pay for that unnecessary trip
ty
He wouldn't call him unnecessarily. That phone will set off a pretty loud alarm and if you don't respond to it and ignore it, then this is how it will turn out.
