Although folding devices are no longer new to the market, Apple does not yet have representation in this segment. There are generally conflicting opinions on foldable smartphones or tablets. Some cheer the innovation, others criticize the thickness of the folded device or the often quite visible bend of the display. Either way, it's been a while since it's likely that something like this will come out with time Apple, which was also indicated by many patents in the past.

Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is clear in this direction and wrote on Twitter that, in his opinion, the foldable iPad will arrive on the market next year. At the same time, an improved iPad mini should arrive with it, which should enter mass production at the beginning of next year. Kuo is silent about the construction itself and other details regarding the foldable iPad. But others are not optimistic about the release of the folding device so soon. During last February, Display Supply Chain Consultant (DSCC) analysts came up with a forecast, announcing that Apple is developing a foldable iPad/Macbook hybrid with a roughly 20-inch foldable display. But in one breath they declared the release in 2026 at the earliest. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman claimed that Apple explores a foldable device whose bottom could serve as a virtual keyboard. Although he didn't say anything about a release date at first, he later added a possible release "later this decade".

But as we know from the past, even Ming-Chi Kuo can be wrong. Two years ago, he said that foldable iPhones could be launched in 2023. Although it's only the beginning of the year, we dare say that nothing like this is coming this year. At the time, Kuo was talking about a device with a screen size of 7,5 to 8 inches. Would you like to see a foldable device with the Apple logo in the future?
